I like chipotle. And as someone said earlier you actually do get decent value for your money. You're paying about 7 bucks for a huge burrito that has like 1000 calories.

im still baffled that someone thinks $6 is expensive/not cheap for lunch.

Yeah. For the $7 or so after tax, a Chipotle burrito is a decent amount of calories. I'm sure there are better "values", but I am not some poor child and don't care.

popular's okay if it's priced right. At TB I can get 5 of the burritos I eat there for the same price as 1 at Chipotle. AT JiTB I get a burger, 2 tacos, fries and a drink for less than 1 item at Chipotle. None of the places you mentioned would be on my radar if I had to pay as much as Chipotle costs. If Chipotle cost about $2.50 it would be worth recommending. TB's not great tasting, but it's also not expensive, so it's a reasonable choice when you want Fast Food. If I had to pay Chipotle prices to eat at TB I'd never go there and would hate on it every bit as much as Chipotle.

And those taco bell burritos are a fraction of the size, with questionable ingredients.

Hey, you don't have to like Chipotle, that's fine. But that doesn't mean everyone has to hate them. You are not the measure of all things good ;)

chipotle blows taste wise. I really like Qdoba more. They season their meat much better (can't speak for the beef since I don't eat beef but their chicken and pork is amazing!)

It's for one of the worst "food" places ever, of course they shouldn't have approved this.

Tired of this. There's nothing wrong with Chipotle's food or ingredients. They take particular pride in the quality of the ingredients and "food with conscience."

Non-delusional people can tell (by taste) that the quality of ingredients is consistently excellent.

Please do us a favor and fuck off from every thread that ever mentions "Chipotle."

There's nothing not bland there, meat? sucks, beans? they don't even offer re-fried beans. Whole beans in a burrito is a fucking travisty and should be punishable by death. They could at least offer them, but that would be too logical. Rice? It's not even Spanish rice. Sauces? Pathetic. There's no combination of anything from that place that can lead to a non bland burrito. Of course people will proclaim it's delicious and one of the best burritos around. I assume this has a lot to do with the marketing team beating the "fresh" and "GMO free" and "locally grown" bullshit into peoples heads.

The Placebo effect's definitely strong with Chipotle Mexicant Grill.

I order the fajita burritos (no beans at all) and concluded that they were awesome / tasty after my first visit...long before I saw any of the marketing stuff.

I seriously want to start one in my town so I don't have to drive 1.5 hours to get there. Seemed like an idea for another Kickstarter...but they don't do franchises :(

I've been there about 5 times, each time made me a little more sad inside than the previous. If it was $3 (about what it's worth) I would speak highly of it. For the price? Can't recommend it at all. They're the Beats headphones of Mexican food. Beats headphones would be great @ $100, $200-300? nope, not really at all. ...

How, exactly? Chipotle uses the best quality ingredients of any national chain, regardless of food type, and you call it "mediocre?"

He has to be trolling. He stated the salsa was bland. Salsa has literally 7 fucking ingredients: tomato, onion, cilantro, jalapeno, garlic, lime juice and salt.

Of all the things at Chiptole, their hot salsa is the best thing they have, flavor wise.

Yeah. It's simple food...but it's "not authentic" according to the asshat collective.

... I can follow your "Beats" analogy to a degree, but Chipotle isn't really claiming anything more than they are: freshest, best sourcing of any fast food restaurant. That's what they do best. Beats claims to produce high quality audio, which is very far from the truth.

Both have something of a premium label to them, however. The difference in cost is actually necessary for Chipotle, however--it actually costs them far more to purchase their ingredients than does Taco Bell and any other low grade "authentic" Taqueria. Beats is made with junk, sounds like junk, but you pay for Dr Dre's name--just like Bose. :p

This x1,000

Starting to <3 you, Zin.

honestly, I don't think you would know a real burrito if it clobbered you in the head.

A real burrito = meat, cheese, beans...maybe salsa, maybe sour cream. That's pretty fucking bland.

and when we are talking authentic mexican salsa, it's pureed tomatoes, garlic, jalepenos, salt. more or less.

bland and fucking bland.

seriously, if you think a real Mexican burrito (which is about as common in traditional Mexican cuisine as "al fredo" is in italian cuisine) is anything more than meat, cheese, and beans, then you should just accept the fact that you are beyond clueless and find something else to bitch about.

like disgusting, diabetic asses.

Hear him! Hear him!

I mean, it tastes exactly like it looks. Beans, cheese, meat, veggie/salsa. Are you saying you just don't like burritos?

Yes. I think that's what he's saying. He just doesn't realize it.

He likes slimy, oozing, cheese-and-grease-filled messes that fit his narrow definition of "burrito."

That's a confusing statement, if that's all that matters than why eat at an expensive place like Chipotle when you can get beans, cheese, meats & veggies/salsa in a tortilla for half the price elsewhere? The exact same ingredients will taste different from place to place.

Source my own organic / humane / hormone-free food for the same price? That would be tough and even more expensive. Then, I still have to invest the time / energy to prepare it before I can consume it.

Also, do you know how loose the definition of "free range chicken" really is?

Only on ATOT can people argue about food so objectively as if its palatableness is some law of the universe that's unquestionable.

I don't think you've ever been to Chipotle. Or, you're trolling. Do you also believe medium rare steaks are yucky and bland?

I think he only eats fried chicken. He made a thread or commented in a thread about that at one time.

Chipotle does suck but their food is good. Chip/salsa should come with the burrito not cost extra $$$.
