I loved making my mighty Saturn chirp in 2nd -> 3rd gear shift. Nobody expected a POS like that to do it.

Ah the fun of having a complete beater... so much screwing around. Clutchless shifting, burnouts, whatever.
 
Mazdaspeed 6, AWD with 270bhp. That's not enough power to spin all 4 tires. :|

Isn't it going to be harder simply because it's AWD? I have about the same HP in my Altima, but it's FWD. I can easily spin the front tires if I'm going from a stop.
 
I wish.

Sometimes, my car does a mini burnout if I'm not careful. Badass car? Nope.
Crappy Goodyear RS/A 2 tires? Yes.

I've spun the 195/70/14 tires on the all powerful Camry a few times.

Except it doesn't sound like what that GTO sounds like above, it sounds more like something rubbing against the belt of a treadmill and a car about to stall 😛

Mine are 225/50/18 I think. Might be 215. I literally bust out laughing out of embarrassment. The engine, while sounding smooth would just whimper and run away if it heard one of the Goats.
 
tried this on motorcycle last night rolling burnout didn't go well can anyone provide tips? I'm thinking I need to keep my body rigid in order to hold the rear more or less in the middle (keep it from fishtailing)?

I did that in my m3 at the drag strip, although not as long. They had me lined up against an 8 second fully built alcohol drag car. dude's headers were emptying approximately into my passenger window and the sound was absolutely deafening. So when I launched, I couldn't tell that my tires weren't spinning 🙁

Burnouts otherwise are juvenile, but they are fun. It's impressive to see a nice car execute a good burnout/donut. Also in most rwd cars, you'll go faster if you err on a bit of excess wheelspin rather than trying to avoid it. Even the NHRA top fuel cars get wheelspin off the line.
 
I've done it a time or 2 at the track. I'm not as privileged as others at the track as I can do a burnout in the box. I just stage and drop the clutch at 4k rpms. Then I do spin all 4.

in sub 60 degree weather, I can spin my all four in my evo on my all seasons. heck, I grabbed some good rubber in a hard shift into 2nd this spring. 33 lbs of boost via an FP red on an e70 tune was it took
 
I hate wheelspin in my Altima, torque steer and traction are big first gear issues lol the subpar Goodyear eagles the dealer put on def dont help the problem. But at 200$ a pop I'll wait til I've used them up lol

Sadly alot of guys with cars like that are not "car guys" and have never turned a wrench in their life and don't even know how to change their oil. They think buying such a car automatically makes them a "car guy" but when you try and talk cars with them they haven't a clue and it becomes clear quickly that they are more interested in bragging about their wallet more than the caring what car they drive.

See, this is why I'll never buy a used EVO or WRX-STi.

I said the same thing... and bought one anyways. the car is awesome and don't regret buying it one bit. I have only had ball-joint fail and had some fuel pump issues, and I have owned it since october of 2010. A hard shift through a couple gears doesn't all of a sudden classify as beaten' on.


It took me a while to find a car I was comfortable with buying. Oddly enough my car was road raced at 500+ on stock block for a couple years. But the owner took care of it, and that is one of the biggest factors with a car like this. Don't let the stereo type of them being beaten on scare you from owning one. there are ones worth buying out there
