slight bumpage and a little plea.

My TV Exploded today. Little power surge rebooted my computer and fried the 18 year old TV. I need a new one. I got referred here by a friend, he sent me the link. I would seriously enjoy a scanned reciept. $399.99 would kick, if anyone has the 240 that would be even better.

Yes, i am a N00b, but i lurked for a while.

If you have a reciept and feel generous, my email is fly44@optonline.net

Hey, lets all jump on the thread that fly brought back to your attention and request scans. YOU COULD AT LEAST DO MORE THAN

"Send me a reciept, kthxbye"

Well, here is my unsuccessful experience at a CC in Fremont, CA. I told the guy BB has $240 for the TV. Of course he didn't believe it. Then he checked the BB website to verify and told me that he couldn't PM BB since it's not in stock any more. Then I showed him christ's receipt in which the price is$449. He told me that there was on sale on Saturday and refused to match this price. //faint. Anybody has successful experience after the weekend?

SHAWROO, you gotta realize the guy is being a prick... anyone can do it for you, it's just a matter if he/she is willing to do it.... so try the price match with someone else, or better yet go to another Circuit City. Just to let you guys know, I met a highschool friend who used to work at Circuit City (although no longer employeed there) as the manager, that fool would authorize me any price match... so it's up to them.
For the mean time I just hope my AMEX Blue PM will come thru.. otherwise I'm prolly gonna lug this thing back.

Local CCs here is pretty strict on PMs, only PM to local stores (within 50 mi radius), nearest BB around here is 75 miles.
Tried 3 CCs. I did convince manager to PM to bluelight.com at 499.99. No go on PM to another receipt (from another state).
Gotta find a Sears then w/ a lower price & grab the price tag off the shelf...

I asked about return policy, can return within 30days, NO RESTOCKING FEE. So if Amex PM doesn't go thr., it's going back.
TV's great though.

It was a pain to fit it in my car though, had to take it out of the box.

On another note: Did anyone else notice that the RECALL button & the RATINGS buttons are switched? Ie, button labelled RECALL is on the right, but when you press it, it gives you the TV RATING. RATING button is on the left, push it and it recalls the previous channel.

Has anyone else heard from Amex, I filed a claim on Saturday, was told to call on Thurs 4/4.

I just got a even better deal at Circuit City here in the Twin Cities. I got the PANASONIC PV-SS2710 27" REPLAY TV on clearance for $260 marked down from $799. It has the 30 hour Replay built in. Specs can be found HERE

Good luck if you can find one. I even opted for the 3 year in home warrenty for another $50.
