I just bought from this store:

GATEWAY MAP Store # 3315
1700 N.E. 102ND AVE PORTLAND, OR 97220
(503) 261-0154

for $499.99, and that was their SHELF price. So, although I don't have a scanner for posting my receipt, maybe you can have your store call this store and price match that way? Good luck!

ok heres how my deal hunting went for this tv. first i went to cc in torrance, ca. the only one they had left was open box and he would sell it for $469. i called amex and found out they dont pm open box. i then ventured to fry's in manhattan beach and found the regular price to be $499. perfect, i was ready to buy. not perfect, they dont take amex. i explained to the sales guy that bb had it for $239 and he said he would pm if he called and verified. i told him it wasnt in stock, but he said he would tell his manager it was. he called verified the price and was gunna sell it to me for $239- 10%. i was more than excited. he checked the computer and he was all out of stock. i was super bummed. i went to frys in burbank who had it in stock, but they would pm since bb didnt have it in stock. he would go to $350 which was cool, but i still wasnt ready to settle. so i headed to cc in westwood(the only cc with them in stock in la) and tried to get him to pm bb but he wouldnt. then i had him call frys and he verified the $499. he sold it to me for $499 and im still waiting on amex to make sure i got the pm. it was alot of effort, but after tax and pm i'll get it for about $290. the tv looks and sounds great too.
good luck to everyone else, the tv is worth a little extra effort if you get it under $300.

JimmyJam, can you tell me the steps required to get a PM from Amex Blue? Do I have to call them and get assigned some sort of number or can I just call in, fax, and write a message about the situation, I'm not exactly sure how to explain the "sorry not taking orders" listed on the BestBuy website.

Thanks

Isn't there an unwritten rule somewhere that a person who gets an incredible deal on something never owns a scanner?

first off, i had never pm'd with blue before either, so im hoping it goes ok. i just called and explained i found it cheaper. the lady said cc has a pm policy so i had to use theirs. i told ehr that the bb price was only available online and cc wouldnt pm it. she told me she would then and gave me a reference number. she also gave me a fax number and said just to fax a copy of my recepit and then print out the bb webpage that clearly stated the price and date. im gunna fax from work tomorrow and see what happens.
also, i'll scan the cc receipt at work tomorrow if no one else has done it by then.

Is there a way to see if my local CC has it in stock through their webpage? It would be AWESOME if I could get in on this deal, but I don't have too much time these days to put a lot of effort into the deal. Thanks.

Yoda: Go click buy now on CC product page, and select store pick up, and select ur store from the list. It'll basically tell you if the store has one or not.

Yes, it is an un-written rule that those that got into the deals don't have scanners.... :p

For those interested, bluelight.com has the TV for 499, at least try & get CC to PM that.
Try to convince them that bluelight.com = kmart (technically web store sells different items than B&M)

My local CC (tried 2 of them now) only went down to 505 from 550. So about $280 after tax & PM for me if
I go for it...
