I don't think you can, in good faith, compare EA to Rockstar....

When a company puts out a game that has such serious bugs that it has to be patched in the first week, I don't think they deserve a "bravo."

Of course you cant, because that would be comparing a developer to a publisher. :)

EA is both a developer and a publisher, and Rockstar is a developer that is owned by a publisher. Nitpick much?

Mine hardlocked ie froze in the middle of playing.. No errors, no controlls, even the XBOX button on the controller didnt work.

M$ keeping it real in case us old retired PC gamers feel like getting nostalgic ;)

Since I moved into the 2nd chapter, about 4-6 more hrs of gameplay, no more lockups, or FR issues.

Great game though, quirks aside

So I beat the game last night.

It definitely started off strong and held it for I'd say 80% of the game. By the end, though, I just got bored with everything - in particular the fact that the final location that opens up is annoying to get to, and all of the missions required you to go there and back.

It's also a very easy game, which I'm a big fan of. If I didn't save I was never really afraid to try a new mission, since I knew I would pass it without a problem.

Never had a need for the patch, but I may play a bit more now that it's out. It froze on me twice - oh well.

Anything unlock or any rewards for the completion?

Just an achievement for beating it - and you unlock "chapter 6" which just opens the world up with no storyline so you can finish missions you didn't do.

You do unlock stuff for getting certain achievements, though - like traveling 100k on foot, 50k on skateboard, and 100k on foot - which unlock articles of clothing. And getting the "buy 100 sodas" achievement makes all sodas free.

Patch coming soon

"We are very aware of the problems some people have been experiencing with the Xbox 360 version of Bully: Scholarship Edition and have been doing everything within our powers to resolve these issues as quickly as possible," a Rockstar Games PR spokesperson told GamesIndustry.biz.

"We will be releasing a title update through Xbox Live within the next week that we are confident will rectify the problem. We apologize wholeheartedly for the inconvenience that this matter has caused some owners of the game. "

Bravo Rockstar!

Funny how reactions are different between EA and other developers/publishers. ;)

I dont recall specifically going after EA to bash them on something like this, so I'm curious why you lumped me into the EA bashers group? Rockstar heard about an issue with one of their games, acknowleged it and resolved it in a timely manner--and I like that. The patch is suppose to be available today, right? Should it have shipped like that? Not at all, but Rock Band also shouldnt have shipped with the faulty guitars--but EA handled the soft-recall really well and I was vocal about that on the Podcast. So sometimes issues crop up after publishing a game--it happens unfortunately.

I think I know where you're going with you comment, but please dont lump me into a group that I dont belong to.

Cool, will have to grab the patch.. I haven't had any problems though since my first complaint.. My son has been playing it lately, he thinks its great fun to climb up in the tree and shoot people in the nuts. I have a feeling me&mom are in for it when he gets older...:frown:

Can anyone confirm that the patch takes care of the problems? I want to buy this game but have been holding out since I have a launch box (somehow it is still alive!).

An anecdotal report on the patch:

The game appears to run a little smoother, but I honestly cannot tell without a frame counter. Zero freezes or luck-ups for me, but I also had zero freezes before the patch.

I'm not evne sure why I'm posting now, wtf warcrow.

I'm hoping we can get someone who was having lock-ups to report in with their post-patch experience.

Ease up, I wasn't lumping you in with anyone. I was speaking in generalities. When EA screws up, the reactions are negative. But a company like Rockstar, which people like more than EA, puts out a game with serious bugs and people let them slide.

I'm putting in a few hours here and there and still really enjoying it. This is a really great appetizer for GTA IV. :)
