I suspect a large part of the security is that attacking "The Whitehouse" is unlikely to accomplish much, RPG or no. Being able to hit the exact right part of the building exactly where the President is, and hit it hard enough to get to anyone inside, is probably more difficult than it sounds.

On the other hand, it's pretty easy to come up with a whole list of potentially "easy" sounding attacks on any number of targets...yet such attacks are incredibly rare. Either they're harder than we think, or there just aren't enough bad guys out there to spend that much time trying to protect everyone from everything.

The security people have become gods. Anything they come up with cannot be questioned. Screw trying to get anything productive done. It's rediculous. Cleared people, have to have vehicles that are already in the Operational Area, completely inspected before you can get on the pier. What used to take ten minutes takes 30. Have they extended the amount of refit time. Oh hell no. just do more with less, it's the American way. Oh, by the way just add money that's not there, makes it's own sauce.

Overall we absolutely suck at rationally balancing security issues. 9/11 turned us into a bunch of security nutcases...it's the new "think of the children" issue were all steps must be taken regardless of cost.

I've been saying it for a while now. How long until the left get so out control they start killing people (or trying)? We keep hearing the media folks worried about the Tea Party people legally carrying firearms but here we have the left not only illegally carrying and using weapons but they are directing them at the POTUS. Then we have the OWS people showing their support for this?

This type of violent behavior and vitriol is becoming ACCEPTED by the radical left.

Whatever this inarticulate idiot meant by this is anyone's guess. In any event, whatever someone said in San Diego has nothing to do with the shooter's actual motiviation. I said he isn't an agent for either political party, and nothing suggests otherwise.

Yep.

Another person with serious mental issues and P&N plays the game of 'pinning a political tail on the donkey'.

I heard he was up for a life sentence in prison. I prefer he get the help he obviously needs. It's also probably cheaper for the taxpayer than just locking him up for life.

I find it alarming that he was actually able to shoot up the WH. A dose of bad luck and he may have injured or killed someone there.

Sounded like he said a moment of solidarity for the whitehouse and for the guy who supposedly shot at the white house ( from a speeding car half a mile away ).

I'm not going to pretend I support this guy. There are plenty of bumbling idiots at #occupy events.

If anybody were going to legitimately try to kill Obama I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't be a homeless #occupy protester who thinks he's jesus. Just look at other threads here and you can get a clear picture of the type of person who would actually try to kill obama. Not shoot randomly from a moving vehicle.

It isn't being used like a ragdoll when referring to you, and especially not in this particular case. You think this guy is Jewish...for no stated reason. You think it's a conspiracy (a "false flag")...for no stated reason. Throwing around totally unsupported conspiracy theories about Jews committing nefarious deeds to further the interests of Israel..yes, that is anti-semitic. If you actually had evidence to support it...maybe not.

Now tell me, what about him makes you think he "looks Jewish?" And even assuming he does, why the fuck would an actual conspiring Israeli organization like the Mossad, for example, use someone who "looks Jewish" and has a tatoo that says "Israel" on his neck?
