If these are crappy parts, I would like to know what are good ones. Especialy the Crucial, never heard that called crappy

One reason I went for Plextor was for it's resale price. I've noticed that higher quality computer parts have a much better resale value. This way I can hold onto it for a while, get a better one when they are out, sell my ol' trusty Plextor for a decent amount and pay a minimal cost on the new one.

by all means, I would not have said that those components are crappy. I probably would have mentioned that they are not the best ones, however. The crucial RAM is great, it the best you can buy, its what I buy. However, the other three components listed are not really that great. I only use MSI motherboards. THis is becuase I know that they make the most stable boards. Go read Anand's reviews of these boards, then perhaps you can agree with me. The CD burner is obviously not known for quality. I only buy plextor. The hard drive is by all means the worst you can get. I would never, ever buy a moaxtor hard drive. I work at my dad's office fixing computers, and ever drive that has failed was a maxtor. I have never seen an IBM or Western Digital drive fail at his office, and I know they use a lot of them.

To sum it up, I would never use any of those components in any of my systems. If you want to save a few bucks, then go ahead, but my computers don't have problems, either. I go for quality.

of course, there is no telling what this guy wants to put in the computer. For all I know, he could recommend a pcchip motherboard and generic ram. Who knows.

the biggest thing that pissed me off was that he said out of all the stuff, he said the Crucial RAM was the WORST, what a "family friend" he made out to be

never seen a WD fail? That's the ONLY HDD that I have seen fail. I've never had a problem w/ a Maxtor.

Forget both Maxtor and WD. IBM all the way. ;)

Uhm, that's an awesome motherboard you have picked out. Epox made a 180 degree turn when they designed the 8K7A. I've been using one in my personal machine for several weeks and I haven't had any problems that were related to it. I've never owned an MSI board, however when looking at the Asus A7M266 and the Epox 8K7A you can see that they use high quality components.
