by all means, I would not have said that those components are crappy. I probably would have mentioned that they are not the best ones, however. The crucial RAM is great, it the best you can buy, its what I buy. However, the other three components listed are not really that great. I only use MSI motherboards. THis is becuase I know that they make the most stable boards. Go read Anand's reviews of these boards, then perhaps you can agree with me. The CD burner is obviously not known for quality. I only buy plextor. The hard drive is by all means the worst you can get. I would never, ever buy a moaxtor hard drive. I work at my dad's office fixing computers, and ever drive that has failed was a maxtor. I have never seen an IBM or Western Digital drive fail at his office, and I know they use a lot of them.
To sum it up, I would never use any of those components in any of my systems. If you want to save a few bucks, then go ahead, but my computers don't have problems, either. I go for quality.
of course, there is no telling what this guy wants to put in the computer. For all I know, he could recommend a pcchip motherboard and generic ram. Who knows.
