Built a fort for my daughter

I've did some wood working in high school classes, and built a couple of book shelves, tables, chairs, etc, but never attempted to build a large scale outdoor structure. So, when I noticed my daughter was no longer interested in her small plastic climbing set, and attempted to climb a tree that grows in the backyard, I've decided it was time to build her a nice large two-story house.

I googled for some available plans, and found a very decent fort with possibility of expanding it further by adding rock climbing wall, monkey bars and a swingset.

So, two weeks worth of working about 1.5 hours a day (after work), and here it is:

And I'm working on adding the wall and monkey bars right now.

That looks sweet ... my daughter would like something like that in the yard, but seeing as I'm mechanically retarded, power tools and the like are usually out of the realm of what I work on

It needs to be about 20 feet taller so you can spy on the neighbors. Other than that, it's nice .

The plan he sells for $18.95 includes fort, swingset, tables and chairs for the first floor (but I put a sandbox in there) and a rock climbing wall. For $10 extra you get a plan for monkey bars.

i had a great site for woodworking plans for free. they had some amazign forts you can download.


i would love to build something like this for my daughter. i just don't have the tools heh

a guy down the street had one like yours with a little more stuff. during a windy day i tstill tipped over.

though living in CA i doubt you are going to get the weather/wind we do in IL. but i would still have it in the ground.

There are no lines here, pedobear represents an adult mollesting children, there is NEVER a time when posting him should be anything but crossing the line. We see Pedobear here all the time. If one instance is acceptable all need to be. Regardless of if the child is one of the members or not, it's wrong to make jokes about it.
