If you're not ordering for 2 weeks, figure out when you're going to order. RAM is going up, and deals don't last that long.

So with about a week to go until buy-time, here's what I have so far:
KrpZs1g.jpg

Note the new RAM, as the one I had picked earlier went up to $100 (should I be looking for 1866, or is 1600 enough?). I would also be getting 7 Home Premium x64 (OEM) and a dongle for holding a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" bay.

Total comes to $747.84, and I already have my Radeon 7850 for $160 AR.

Any final thoughts before next week?

i5-3570k (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116504)

Asus Maximus V Gene (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131830)

Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814202003)

Samsung 840 128gb ssd (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820147188)

Corsair 8gb DDR3 2133 ram (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233285)

$1000

This is a bit of an enthusiast build but most of it is price/performance.

The Mobo is a bit of a splurge but it comes with built in audio that is comparable to a stand alone sound card.

Here is a better build:

Fractal 304 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811352027)

MSI Mini-ITX (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130673)

3570k (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116504)

8gb DDR3 Corsair (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233144)

Seasonic 80+ Platinum 520w (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817151122)

Samsung 840 120gb ssd (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820147188)

This build leaves $215 for a video card.

Why not 3770k for CPU yet you give him a 400 dollar Maximus for what ? Just grab a Asus P8 micro board. Also only 8GB ram when its 40 bucks... more like 3770k and Ivy micro mobo 120 dollars.. and 16GB kit 90. If your going to do it do it once and do it right.

This looks great. That's an older Silverstone case you've chosen, but if it suits your needs and space constraints, it's a fine pick. Silverstone updated it recently with USB 3.0, but otherwise, it looks a bit dated. It was a clone of another manufacturer's design, and Silverstone has struck out on their own recently with creative cases like the SG09: http://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Te...lverstone+matx

Just wanted to point that out, but honestly, there's nothing wrong with the SG02, and it will probably be easier to build in.

Everything else looks great, and yes, DDR3-1600 is fine for this system. Note that you can usually get Samsung (and other) DVD burners for less at Newegg, but perhaps you're trying to keep it to Amazon.

By the way, you don't need a 2.5"-to-3.5" drive bay converter (what you called a dongle) for the SSD - you can stick it anywhere in the case, including sitting it on (or taping it to) the bottom. But if you want a tray to secure the SSD, I recommend the Silverstone SDP08 converter: http://www.amazon.com/SILVERSTONE-SD...one+2.5+to+3.5
