Hae guys i am looking at building a new gaming computer and i have been looking around at parts but i am not sure about the PSU and Motherboard.
So far
AMD
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 7850 Black Edition Dual Core 2.8GHz 3MB socket AM2+ Processor retail box
MoBo: ECS GF8200A AM2+ ATX GF8200 MCP78S Motherboard FSB 5200, DDR2 1066, intergrated VGA

OR

Intel:
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E5300 2.6GHz 800MHz LGA775
MoBo: ASRock P43DE socket T Motherboard ATX Intel P43 chipset 1.6GHz FSB LGA775

GPU: SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON HD4850 512MB PCI-E
RAM: G.skill 4GB kit PC6400 CL5-5-5-15 2x2GB
HD: Western Digital 500GB 7200rpm
PSU: Corsair HX-520 ATX 520W 120mm Modular Power Supply
Case: need some suggestion on a good preformance case i dont mind what it looks like because it wil be sitting under a desk

I have a budget of 900 NZD and this rig is about 800NZD
Should i go amd or intel?
Also wondering about a good case
And do i need any other fans or cooling systems?
All products which are avaliable to me are avaliable at: www.pricespy.co.nz

Note: Already have a CD/DVD writer

I just wanted to get some feedback on this system

cheers

Well your links don't seem to work, at least for me. Please type out what parts your looking at, so we can help you build your system. An AMD system will generally be a bit cheaper to build, so it can allow more $ for a better GPU. Intel has options too, so I wouldn't rule them out either, especially if your going to OC them. Right now there are several options to go with, so narrowing down your options will be a bit tougher than usual.

I dontknow how much NZD are equal to US dollars, but I will assume they are slightly less. Given that..I would say four about that ratio or price, you would could get both decent i7 systems and AMD systems. Both will OC well, but the i7 gets the edge. For a psu, a corsair 500w should be fine. Mobo will depend on what system you want..so you have to tell us that. Also do you have a monitor..keyyboard, etc? If not I suggest an AMd build because it will be slightly cheaper. Specifically, if you go AMD, get an AM3 type build. If you go i7, go off of the 920. Reply with more specifics so we can help you better.

um sorry the links dont work
the amd CPU is: AMD Athlon 64 X2 7850 Black Edition Dual Core 2.8GHz 3MB socket AM2+ Processor retail box
the intel CPU is: Intel Pentium Dual Core E5300 2.6GHz 800MHz LGA775
Mobo: ASRock P43DE socket T Motherboard ATX Intel P43 chipset 1.6GHz FSB LGA775
GPU: SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON HD4850 512MB PCI-E

i already have a keyboard mouse monitor etc so that doesn't matter

Instead of buying stuff from all over the place why not jsut get it from one supplier? Would save a lot of headaches imo.

If you are using your system for gaming, then it is my understanding the lower end AMD cpus are superior to the lower end Intel CPUs. However Intel cpus are slightly better for the reminder of tasks. Either way, both are fine imo.

If you go AMD, make sure you get a mobo that supports cpus over 95W. I've noticed some of the lower end mobos actually state cpus over 95W are not supported. Not an issue with your amd cpu, but if you want to upgrade in the future it may be.

Well if I was buying an Intel CPU, I'd consider just about any p45 based mobo. Gigabyte has been a pretty good selection for price/performance in the p45 based mobo's. Asus is also pretty good too, just usually a bit more $ in most places, not sure about your area. As far as an AMD mobo, I'd seriously consider getting a 790gx based mobo. They come with the newer 750 South Bridge chipset and work quite well. Here in the U.S. the 790gx based mobo's are from about $90-$125 or so, which is pretty reasonable here, not sure what kind of price you have there.

yeh someone suggested that i go with:
Intel:
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 2.5GHz 800MHz LGA775
MoBo: ASRock P45XE - Motherboard - ATX - iP45 - LGA775 Socket - UDMA133, Serial ATA-300, eSATA - Gigabit Ethernet - High Definition Audio (8-channel)
instead

The 790gx boards are 270+NZD

ASUS P5Q SE2 - Motherboard - ATX - iP45 - LGA775 Socket - UDMA133, Serial ATA-300 - Gigabit Ethernet - High Definition Audio (8-channel)
is this a better mobo?

I believe that is a better choice. It's a p45 based mobo and should OC better too, if you decide to do that.

also for this system could i use a 450W corsair PSU instead of a 520W one?

Yes that would be fine for this build. You could even go with the Corsair 400W CX model too. It's usually a bit cheaper than the 450vx version, but it still has plenty of power for your 4850 GPU!! Even the Antec Earthwatts 380w or 430w PSU's will do. I just recommend going with at least the Antec 430w or the Corsair 400w CX. They will leave a bit more wiggle room for upgrades later.
Corsair 400w CX model
Antec 430w Earthwatts PSU
Usually there is a ~$20 USD difference in the Corsair 400cx and the Corsair 450vx models, before any rebates, so keep that in mind.

Thanks.
The last thing i need to know is about a case, i dont mind what it looks like because it will be sitting under a desk but i am interested in preformance about it helping to keep the system cool, but i dont have much left over for the case.
Any Suggestions?

Depending on your budget for a case, I'd consider the Antec 300 (~$60 shippeed) or even the Cooler Master 690 case (~$80-90 shipped) as ones that I'd consider. If you bundle the Antec 380w PSU with the Antec 300 case you would have a decent setup.

And is this CPU and MoBo compatible?:
Gigabyte GA-M720-US3 - Motherboard - ATX - nForce 720D MCP - Socket AM2+ - UDMA133, Serial ATA-300 (RAID) - Gigabit Ethernet - FireWire - High Definition Audio (8-channel)
and
AMD ATHLON64 X2 7750 2.7GHZ SOCKET AM2

Yeah that should do you quite well. Looks like a decent case. Not sure on the cooling, but if you have at least one input fan and one output fan, you should be fine.

Yes they are. I haven't seen the 720d chipset before, but according to Gigabyte's website it supports even AM3 CPU's and up to 1200 mHz DDR2, not that you need 1200 mHz RAM.

It looks like it might do fine for a bit. I'll look at reviews and see if there is anything that might be an issue. You might to Google reviews on the board too, to see if you find any issues that might arise.

I had a look at some reviews and there is nothing that really stands out as being bad about the mother board

Cooler Master does a pretty good job with their cases, so that should be a good one, especially since you have 2 x 120mm fans included!! Glad to hear that the mobo seems to be a good one. I'm at work so I haven't had much time to research the mobo yet, sorry.
