Eh that Rosewill PSU has 25% 1 star ratings. Not too promising. Otherwise that's a pretty bit combo, and the x6 CPU is pretty attractive.

As per the OP's final build list, I like this mobo+OS combo a lot more. 800 series chipsets and USB/Sata3 for 10$ more.

Did you by any chance see this combo? It looks like it will cost a few dollars more total but it looks awesome and it's still under budget. (EDIT) from what I can see anyway.

Newegg combos FTW!

Actually that's just me misreading the model number 😛

Still am not a fan of OCZ PSUs/the 7200.12 series.

Fair enough. Seagate isn't the best, i'll give you that... I'm pretty neutral when it comes to OCZ with exception to their ram (had nothing but problems with it...) which is why I pulled a doubletake.

Wow that is a really good combo for my money situation lol I'm still going to get the 470 and ill look for a cheap disk drive but yea thanks for showing me that. 😀 but do you guys think i should get a better PSU?

I see people on here with ModXStreams all the time. They are nothing to worry about, they are just not as efficient as some from what I've heard.

Alright then but since this is my first time building i don't know a whole lot so does it come with all the cords? lol or will I have to buy some?

Yes, all the power connectors will be there. You may need an additional SATA cable for your CD/DVD or your HD. Let me check.

EDIT: You should have 2 SATA cables, so you will have a cable for both HD and Disk Drive.

Alright just making sure and I'm interested in the case and want to know if it really does light up like that lol? I sound dumb but w.e haha

That combo is good, but not better than the individual combos that you've found added together when you consider you're stuck with a lesser PSU and HDD. The extra stuff in addition to the barebone (OS, Monitor, KB/mouse, dvd drive, GPU) easily adds up to $600. But if you really like the case, then you should tally it up in detail to see what the actual cost difference is.

If you want the hex core, you could just do the 1055t and GSkill RAM combo for $270

Oh the Samsung F3 1TB and 650TX combo got even more discounted. 650tx and samsung f3 combo for $103 after $20 and coupon code 'Aug10'. Don't hesitate too much and miss the deal! This is the lowest I've ever seen this combo.

You can't coupon code a combo, but I see it as $110 anyways. Does Newegg refund recent buyers if there are ridiculous price drops shortly after someone purchases the same items? I thought $124 after rebate for those two with the $10 coupon code and $60 shellshocker HDD was as good as it could get. Heck, the normal price is now what the shellshocker was, what kind of bargain is that?

This is good too. What you would need to do from there is get a mobo/GPU.

the coupon does work. I am really surprised too since like you said, coupon and combo don't usually stack. Somehow this one does.

I really don't exactly know but what is 6 cores going to do for me? Will it make the computer extremely faster? Because most games don't support 6 cores yet right?

6 cores really doesn't matter for games right now, or even probably for the next couple of years. Personally, I would just follow what jchu said in reply #11. I don't really like those all-inclusive combos because they restrict me too much. I can see how they are attractive for a first-timer though.

There are only a few games that use more than 2 threads (cores) and even less that use more than 4. They are out there though. Look how in the last couple years game developers hopped on Dual Core and shortly after Quad Core CPUs. It'll happen, it just hasn't happened yet.

I think I'm just going to stick with the 945 for now and then later on, if i can afford the i7 6 core I'll upgrade to that but if not that 6 core then I'll get either the 1055 or the 1090

I would never spend $1000 on a processor to play games. Get the 1055T if you are going to get a 6 core. The "Cheap" Intel 6 core planned to release soon is still going to be $600 and aside from that you will need a change in motherboard which would cost you $200+ besides.

Choose your platform now, or pay an EXTREME price later to change. If you want the epic Intel 6 core get the x58 and an i7 (much more money than you are wiling to spend). The 1055T is not a huge upgrade from the 945. Get the 1055T now, it won't be worth the upgrade later, or be happy with the 945.

EDIT: It is my belief that with a $1100 budget a processor costing an extra $60 is well worth it.
