Buffets ruining good food

Hometown Buffet is not the worst buffet around, but it's a good example of the problem.

How do they ruin 'foods that are hard to ruin'?

Macaroni and Cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, fried chicken, tater tots and much more.

You might think 'I like those!' But somehow they make them where you eat it and think 'this is not at all enjoyable to eat. I didn't think you could ruing this food that badly'.

Macaroni and Cheese: a very watery sauce, little flavor. Grilled Cheese: cheap thin bread, cheap cheese. Fried chicken: sort of burnt, no flavor, not tender, little meat. Tater tots: flavorless, just off.

Food after food. At least it's not all. Jello is ok. They have a sausage type meat that seems horribly bad for you but is tasty if highly salty. Corn is corn. Their orange chicken isn't horrible. But they ruin a lot.

Restaurants, especially "Comfort Food" buffets, have to cater to the absolute lowest common denominator as far as taste goes. Moving to the Midwest, I've found that people here don't like any sort of spice or seasoning at all.

Craig234 obviously has some sort of defect in taste as he claimed that In-n-Out Burger is "not good." I can't take anything he says seriously now.

I have only had In-n-Out burgers a couple of times & OMG they were delicious 🙂

I went to a buffet once. My roommate spent 3 hours inside while I stood outside waiting on him...at one point I had to go back in to make sure he didn't die of a heart attack..nope! he was going up for the desserts. Fuck that shit.

Food sitting on warming table is by definition not good food.
Here comes the food snob. People eat $50-$100+ per person buffet because it's crappy food. I'll let you on a secret since I've eaten at lot of fancy buffet. Not all food sits on warming table.

I had the buffet at Agua Caliente casino last night and pretty much every month. Its once again just meh, but better than their other offerings, unless you want to hit up their steak house, which is way more money. Last night they had some Korean concert going, so the food was really lacking in the Asian section.
