I thought you just take the silver pans back to the table. Aren't the plates just for salad?

wouldn't you rather just stick your fork in every pan as you walk up and down the buffet line?

well that wouldn't be nice to others.

3 big plates. Who wants to stand in the buffet line 10 times?

sounds legit to me... Personally I am a big fan of chinese buffets and all the food seems to taste better when it is stack on top of something else.

I'm going to go with the smaller plates. With the big piles, you get full and you will have to leave food on your plate to throw away. With the small plates you eat, and if you are still hungry you go back, and less food is wasted. Also if something is not so good on your plate, or you are just stick of it, you don't have to throw out an entire mountain of it.

i think so, but also is the b line you wear into the patterned rug going to and from the buffet.
you an never know what people are truly thinking under the veil of a paper napkin and a glass of ice water.

any reason why you should care what they are t hinking?

i like to leave a very unassuming footprint out in public.
i care to the extent that i dont want these people thinking I am a slob.

and how often will you see these people afterwards? my god, the things you guys worry about...

fukett...it's a buffett...how many of the other patrons do you know? Why would you care if someone you don't know thinks you're a slob? Folks generally don't go to the "all-you-can-eat" places because of the quality of the food...I've yet to hit a buffet of any kind that had excellent food...some that were good enough to come back to, some that were "meh", most that were "OMFG! I think I got ptomaine from that sh*thole!"

Usually that's true, but Vegas (and casinos in general, actually) does have some really excellent buffets.

which appears less gluttonous.

10 small plates or 3 plates ile so high with food it looks like a jiffy pop?

When I go to a Buffet, I ask the waiter to place a chair right next to it so then I don't need to keep getting up.

Agreed...SOME are pretty good...but, they're the exception...many of the local Indian casinos have buffetts...and they aren't that great.

it's an anxiety thing. you might not understand.

Isn't the whole point of a buffet to stuff as much food down your gullet as humanly possible? 10 enormous plates piled to the ceiling won't make you look like a glutton to that crowd, they'll make you their king.

worry about that when youre at a nicer place
buffets are for the gorging 🙂

still, i get small plates so i can sample a few different things

/doesnt like lots of food to intermingle

edit: this thread is making me crave chinese food

reminds me of a pizza buffet coupon i got. thanks OP

As a former banquet waiter, I would have preferred you take fewer plates and filled them more as long as you don't leave huge piles of stuff on the plate when you're "done"

I like the occasional buffet for choices in food, not for gluttony. 3 bites of this, 3 bites of this, and so on. I rarely eat more there than what I would eat at a non-buffet restaurant.

Luckily I don't have the most discerning palate.

My list of buffet etiquette only has one rule. Don't push me or otherwise bump into me with your giant gut because you think it'll move the line, or you're too stupid to realize your fat ass takes up more space than the rest of us. Fvck.

Buffet means you don't give a crap.

within the circle of other buffet patrons it can make a difference.

Face it, you're a pig, now go get the buffet tray (minus the plates) and get in line with the rest of us. You're holding up chow time with useless ???'s. chop chop.

Seems to me you have some "other" mental issues to deal with before you are ready to step foot out into gen pop.

Buffet tip if you're gonna go all gluttonous: wear sweat pants and avoid salty/spicy foods (so you don't drink too much water).
