buffalo ram.. how does it compare

its far from "cheap" ram (its actually pretty dang good stuff)
but i probably wouldnt put it in the same class as corsair or mushkin

I've got a couple of those. They're all CH-5 and run solid with dual channel in NF2 boards at 200/400 11-3-3-2.5. I've had it doing 426mhz on a AN35ultra a few weeks ago at the same timings without any problems.

I have two sticks of their 512MB PC3200 (Samsung chips) in my A64 3000+ system now. It works fine, even OC'd to 220MHz at stock voltage. I haven't tried to tighten the timings or play with voltage yet.

Go to Buffalos site and see that this module is using windbond chips

Those sticks have not been using winbond BH5 chips for the longest time.
That's true, but you're the first one to mention BH-5 🙂 What was discussed was just Winbond, and you can get CH-5 with Buffalo pretty easily. I've gotten mine from TBL Mem. Solid stuff, I haven't pushed it to the extreme yet as the board I've been using mine in is a KT333 board that won't go too high before PCI devices start to crap out (~185-190MHz).

It's pretty solid stuff, I have a stick that does 11-3-3-2 timings at 200MHz (400DDR) on an NF7-S.

i've tried 3 sticks, they all did 5-2-2-2 @ 200 mhz
I just haven't pushed mine any more than that.

How does that 512 stick compare to kingston hyperx 2700. Is it worth spending the money for the kingston?

And How about compared to value select from corsair?

I just ordered (2) 512MB PC3200 Buffalo Memory from Newegg. It was recommended very highly by alot of people at amdmb forums.

A poster named Memoryman is a Buffalo Tech over there at amdmb. I asked him alot of questions about their memory, and he was quick to reply and answer all of them.
