I did say it comes with its downsides, I also said though that those aren't relevant in this particular situation. It lacks Intel's SRT, the ability to overclock, typically only comes with 2 DIMM slots, etc. None of which in particular is an issue with the OP's build.

Well due to unavailability of B75, I am going to get Asus P8H67-V. So the specs are going to be-

i3 2120
Asus P8H67-V
Corsair 430 w
Coolermaster Elite 311 (
has no USB 3.0)
Samsung 20 LED
HDD 1 TB WD caviar green
G skill 4x2 1333 mhz

Hope its going to be a good built after much discussion :)

If you were going to truly forget the budget that system would be a lot nicer than what you have set up :p

H67 and H77 also lack the ability to overclock, and the number of DIMM slots is four on boards like Gigabyte B75M-D3H and Asrock B75 Pro3. So it's not chipset specific. There are likewise H67 and H77 boards with only two DIMM slots.

Just two things:

Green drives operate at 5400 RPM, generally for desktop systems you'll want 7200RPM to install the operating system on. I mean it'd work fine it'd just be slower, green drives are meant for storage. So get 7200RPM unless there aren't any available for a good price.

You'd be better off with 2x 4GB modules instead of 4x 2GB modules.

Guys I really wanted to stick to my budget, but B75 are unavailable. Don't want to go with H61 so have to buy H67. Also got a call from a local dealer today, he said he could arrange for Asus B75 board within 15 days. So, just wondering whether to go ahead or build the rig right away or wait for 15 days.

@ lehtv Thanks again man. So that means I should buy WD caviar black 1 TB? 'cause they work at 7200 rpm I guess. And yep going with 4gb x 2

Caviar Black 1TB is a very good, though usually you can find Hitachi 7K1000.D 1TB and Seagate ST1000DM003 drives for less. Caviar Black has a longer warranty, while Hitachi and Seagate are single 1TB platters and thus faster than WD's 2x 500GB platters. Also, in the US you can find Seagate ST2000DM003, a 2TB version of the above model, for only a bit more cost.

seagate or wd 1 tb 7200 rpm
gskill 4gb x 2 1333mhz

Do you mean Asus P8B75-M LE or Asrock B75M?

The main difference between the P8B75-M LE and the P8B75-V is the form factor. MicroATX versus ATX. As a result, the -V has more DIMM slots, PCI slots and PCIe slots, none of which will probably be needed. Just go for the cheaper one.

The Seagate HDD is good especially if it's ST1000DM003.

Cooler Master 311 doesn't support USB 3.0 in the front panel but of course you'll still have it in the back panel. If you need it for quick access, look for NZXT Tempest 210, Source 210 Elite or Antec One.

The P8B75-M LE has both HDMI and DVI and it's cheaper, while the V has only DVI. You most likely won't need the extra expansion slots of a full ATX board so just get the M.

Neither HDMI or DVI is better. They send basically the same signal, you can connect a HDMI only monitor to a DVI-D port with a simple adapter and it'll work the same. In addition, HDMI can transfer a sound signal alongside video. HDMI revisions have different capabilities while DVI comes in different connector types.

Oh, sorry. Didn't check Asus's website, I just browsed newegg for what's available and figured there's no such thing as a non-LE version. Fail...

Anyway, the non-LE board is the better board. LE is always a downgrade in Asus terminology. Go for it :)

Just help WD black 1 tb or Seagate. Warranty really matters as well as performance. I want it to be quiet, fast and reliable. Reviews say wd is better than seagate. What do you say?

The 5 year warranty is something to take seriously, but it's also true if a HDD is to fail on you, it'll do so within a short period of time, and if it is to last a year it's likely to last several more. Given that the Seagate costs less and is slightly faster (single 1000GB platter versus two 500GB platters), you can't go wrong with either. If you're not bothered by the cost and just want peace of mind, go with Caviar Black; if you are bothered by the cost and believe the HDD will last long anyway, go with Seagate.

Kind of a gamble! Well you have a point and I agree with you. But whats with the single and double platter thing? They are both 1 tb so they mst have a single platter no? Which one is the quieter?
