Bubble tea question - rehydrating the tapioca pearls with alcohol?

Just had a red bean bubble tea tonight, and the place we normally go for them is getting their liquor license soon. My wife wondered aloud if you could use vodka rather than water to rehydrate the tapioca pearls. I can't see why not, but wanted to see if anyone at ATOT has ever tried, and if so how it turned out.

haha, very interesting. lmk how well it works. Iirc, my wife boils the pearls in water to rehydrate them.
