Good job but don't let your guard down.

I used nicorette gum foe a week when I quit and the day I quit the nicorette was the hardest day in my life. It was a fight by the minutes for a few days after that but I managed to persevere and here we are more then 18 years later and I have not smoked since.

I had extra incentive to help me back then. A white cancerous growth under my tongue that took 3 operations to remove.

not mine but similar

By the way, half the people who develop tongue cancer die of it.

Holy shit thats disgusting. Looks like fungi

Alton Brown might be able to make it into something good though.

It's day 11. I'm still quit. Urges come and go but are nothing like day 1-3. Still haven't smoked or ingested any nicotine since 1am on 1 December.

::does my I quit smoking dance::

Can I say I quit yet?

No, you can never say that because once a smoker always a smoker.

I'm a pussy because I used patches and lozenges? LOL, well I'd rather be a pussy who quits successfully than a "real man" like you who's going to relapse, you douche.

Just over 10 weeks for me, not a single smoke.

I quit cold turkey, no problem, no relapse and was 100% free.

I used a combination of will power and meditative breathing exercises when I had a craving.

I'm not saying it was easy, but people quit cold turkey long before lozenges or patches were ever in existence.

I quit cold turkey. I found that using nicorette and lozenges just prolonged the inevitable. When I tried them, (patch too) I felt like I was just pretending I quit smoking but still a slave to the drug. The desire never went away. But quitting cold turkey worked. It was a tough couple of days but I got over it. It's just a matter of being like fuck this shit. QUitting smoking means not fucking smoking. Simple as that. It hurt a bit, but whatever. If I chewed a piece of nicotine gum right now I'd feel like I just committed myself to cigarettes all over again.

Still going. 15 days, 12h:26 minutes. Had a really bad craving yesterday right after lunch. Went for a walk during the time I would normally have smoked. It really is getting better. I'm missing them less and less.
