sittin on 10/7/5/11 right now (m/c/d/s) . Upgrading d to 6 as I type this!

Energy to lvl 2 as well. Combustion is lvl 1.

So, i'll be going for maybe crystal 8 next, then robo 2, shipyard and light fighters! :)

Friggin lvl 12 solar plant. friggn 6500 metal 2600 crystal. Godfriggindamnit. Would I benefit from solar satellites at position 10 in the solar system Turk?

Malladine: I wouldn't build any more than 3-4 at the moment as you probably don't have much defense and solar satelites are one of the first things to get hit during an attack... and at position #10, they are not the as efficient as they would be at 1-4 :)

I'm at a very similar level as you now. However, I'm in planet position 4. How do you find out the amount of energy a solar satellile will give you? I really don't feel like burning through all that metal to upgrade to level 11 solar :)

right, that's why I asked. So do planetary defenses protect satellites?

And are they destroyed automatically or does the raider choose whether to destroy them or not?

Researching laser tech now!

Oh and what's up with Fusion Plants? I could build those pretty soon...they use deuterium to provide energy. 55/hr energy for 11/hr deuterium, lvl 2 is 121/hr energy for 25/hr deuterium

And is researching higher lvls of laser tech useful for anything other than as a prereq for other technologies?

I'm curious as to whether it's woth pursueing this solar power or focusing on aiming to get fusion plants running.

It's nice to wake up in the morning and see all of the metal/crystals stockpiled.

How long do we stay in n00b/protected status? I'm thinking that I'll keep upgrading the mines before moving on to a research lab/defenses.

noob protection is permanent and based on your score (overview screen at the bottom). 5x your score and they can't attack you (you're noob protected from them). You're 5x above someone, they're protected against you.

Well, if I had a lvl 2 fusion plant that would be an 18.8% decrease in deuterium production for 19.1% increase in power. That's with lvl 11 solar and lvl 6 synthesizer.

Up those by 1 lvl each and it becomes a 14.7% decrease in deuterium production for 16% increase in power. Leaving those at the same increased lvls (12 power 7 synthesizer) and increasing fusion to lvl 3 it becomes 23.5% decreased d vs 26.4% increased power.

Of course i don't know how expensive fusion plants are to build, but I do know that solar plants are very expensive at this lvl...

More numbers:

lvl 11 solar, lvl 10 deuterium, lvl 3 fusion = 12.3% decrease in deuterium production for a 31% increase in power. Of course, you won't have enough power for a lvl 10 deuterium at this point...they cost 512 power alone. With a lvl 12 solar you'd have around 30 spare power with the other buildings at the level mine are now. Then it becomes 12.3 decrease for a 26.4% increase.

With m10, c7, d10, s12, f6: 33% decrease in deuterium prod. for 70.5% increase in power.

A lvl 6 fusion just about pays for 324/hr deuterium (lvl 10) in power by consuming 33% of the 324/hr...

However, for slightly more than the energy production of a lvl 6 fusion plant you'd need to upgrade solar plant to lvl 15!!! I don't want to think about how expensive that is. :frown:

Then you'd have 107 more deuterium/hr though...

Man. I guess we need to know how much fusion plants cost. If they are anywhere near the cost of solar plants they ain't worth it. If they are half price or less...maybe!

No, since attacks are turn based, your solar satelites will get destroyed no matter what as the attacker gets the first turn.

Fusion plants are not worth it IMO. They eat too much deterium. I just wait till I can build Solar Plants. They are the best.

google "ogame costs" and i'm sure you'll find it somewhere... i still would stay away from fusion plants...

I do'nt suppose there's any way to queue up commands so I can go work on something and have it continue building things in the order I want... But I suppose that's the whole point is you have ot be here waiting to click the next button... *sigh*

ANy general FAQ on this game anywhere that describes each unit and how it works?

Franky: you have to pay $4/month if you want that functionality. Turk has a link somewhere on the first pages for detailed ogame info.

You can queue things up with the Commander, which costs 3.99 a month, and most players don't use it... so I'd just wait up :p

You can find FAQs in the forums link on OGAME site or you can click on each building, ship, research or defense and see a detailed description.

Yeah nice woke up to a nice pile of resources. Now I'm L7 metal, L5 crystal, L2 deut, L7 solar. Building my first research lab now because I'm impatient :)
