Don't know if you had a chance to play, but Competitive Driving mode further adjusts the steering wheel effort. You can get to it by tapping the traction control button twice. It will also adjust throttle response and prevent the car from dramatically cutting timing during hard shifts.

Interesting, I assumed it was like my C5 and just adjusted the traction control and stability control. I'll have to play with it for the steering effort. It feels so good

What's the stock engine output and if you mod it will it void the warranty?, heck if it's that ballsy already I'd just let her be, nice car though, awesome!

556hp flywheel, but they're easily modded. :awe:

I don't see the point, 556 is quite ballsy and then you have to wonder if your mods don't overwork some other part of the drive-train, cooling system, ect. 556 ought to be enough to have some "fun with. :p

Stock MR2 Turbos make 165rwhp. The transmission can handle 800+. I'm sure there's adequate overhead for some "extra" fun. :awe:

I'm not terribly worried about adding too much stress with a small pulley mod and new HX. As to the warranty - I'm not a big fan of John Hennessey's previous business practices, but his shop offers a 36k drivetrain warranty with their mods as a supplement to the GM one. They don't list their prices but around the web it sounds like they cost about an extra 33% on top of other shop's packages, so I may go that route if that's the right number. If it's more than that I doubt I'd go with them.

I'll go as big as I can go without adding new injectors which looks to be around 650bhp.

awesome car. My hope is that when I eventually have kids and need something "sensible" I can find a used cts-v manual wagon.

I thought about wagon hunting but I don't really have real use for the extra space so the coupe worked for me and was easier to find. Manual vs. auto was by far the hardest decision to make - I have osteoarthritis (at 25 years old FFS) in both of my knees and some calcium deposits under my knee cap which make it hard on me to drive the stick. As bad as I wanted it there was enough soreness after the test drive to get the auto box.

Mine went fine for 38k miles with 600 rwhp. That's a jump of around 120 HP over stock.

Damn you're 25 and you've already owned an M3, and now a CTS-V?? What the heck do you do for a living? Congrats though...Wish I had that kind of cash.

What was your full mod list? I'm assuming pulleys, HX, injectors, isolator, and headers?

Lower pulley 9.5", headers, intake, thermostat and tune. Injector where fine and I didn't want to mess with having to press on an upper pulley with all the troubles GM was having. Luckily, since it was not tampered with, I was eligible for a replacement supercharger just before I sold the car.

38k?, some people will ding that in less than 2 years but who knows, maybe GM doesn't cheap out on their high-end stuff the way they do on lower models. My '05 Malibu uses a tranny that was used in the Cobalt for years, at 95K I now "baby" it most of the time as shifts close to WOT are very rough. Oh well, the bone-yards are full of 4T45E's for around $300/pop..

Heh yeah a CTS-V is a far cry from a Malibu. :)

One of these things has a corvette powertrain and one of these things is a Malibu.

Seriously, if GM can do anything right it's make meat-fisted-idiot-proof V8s and V8 powertrains.

I drove a brand new 2007 Impala SS a number of years ago that was thoroughly unimpressive.
