I get 2.0mb/s down at home. I get 6mb/s down at work. :p

I'd use dialup if there were no other choice. Dialup is fine for email and surfing. Forget up downloading Windoze updates/game files though. 4 meg take you all damn night! :Q

If I were to become in the unfortunate event of having no BB, I would bust out with my lawsuit stick and point randomly at ISPs because frankly that's the only thing I'd have to do.

Only when forced at gunpoint :)

Lol, if I were to move I wouldn't move to a place without high speed internet access unless of course it was to my summer home in Montana :)

I have had Charter since March, and I have not had a single problem with the service. It is the only option I have for broadband, so I am sticking with them. If I moved somewhere that didn't offer anything other than dial-up, I'd certainly look into full-duplex, satellite-return internet service. I have a friend who got it recently, and he has had no complaints, other than the high initial inverstment. Of course, he lives so far out in the styx that they have to pipe in sunlight.

I would use an old Anandtech adage if I were forced to go back to dialup....

"St@b me"

Multiple times. The pain would be far less than downloading at dialup speeds.......

What is this broadband you speak of?

Is this faster than my 28.8 modem? If so, how much is it and what do i need to do to install this broadband thingy.

I'd commit suicide if I had to go back to 56k, or maybe just go to the mall......., decisions decisions.

I would buy a trencher ( because renting is not Ferengi'ish ) and trench a cable to the nearest local broadband provider before I gave it up.
