Big fan of the UK comedies Spaced (from the director of Shaun of the Dead) and the Office and wondering if there are other shows worth checking out - any suggestions?

as long as there's little or no talking, it's great (mr bean, benny hill). Once they talk, I really can't avoid the arrogance in their accent and their lousy pronounciations. that's what kills it for me.

ENGLISH also pronounces Jesus incorrectly. ENGLISH refuses to pronounce anything correctly. it's the thug language of yesteryear. the slang, incorrect form of whatever was proper that was lost in history.

:p

Truthful observation and stating it as such != arrogrant prink + namecalling.
correct pronounciation --> Yeh-sua. It got twisted through the ages, and eventually, the name started with the modern J, which is pronounced more like a H in some languages. Jesus came from latin, which was transliterated from greek or hebrew (forgot the details). The Jesu or Jesus was pronounced "Yeh-soo" or "yay-soo" in those days since J was pronounced as such. Some nut decided J should sound like a soft G, and now, we pronounce it "Jesus."

Jesus is probably going "wtf, who's name are they calling? who the hell is jee-sus?"

Thank you for explaining it to me, what i read from the other poster was WE bastardised it.

But as observed by the rest of the world through the ages everything gets messed up from its original spelling, but the rest of the world doesnt blame the USA for changing it do they.
