HOUSTON -
There have been reports that multiple shots have been fired at a college.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the shooting was reported at Lone Star College's North Harris campus, 2700 West W. W. Thorne Drive near Aldine Westfield shortly after noon.

Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables said they have received reports that multiple people had been wounded.

Investigators are working to determine if there is an active shooter on campus.

No doubt if there had been a mass shooting in one of those cities, particularly one that didn't involve gangs, it would in fact have generated major media attention.

I'm not sure why you are choosing those cities in particular - none of them is near the top of American cities for murder rate, nor are they at the top in terms of violent crimes overall. New York, in particular, is one of the safest large cities in the United States, with violent crime rate lower than, among others, Wichita and Tucson. Old stereotypes die hard, I guess . . .
