BREAKING NEWS: Michigan cancels game at OSU

KLin

Lifer
Michigan has canceled their game with Ohio State. They are not able to make it to Columbus because they can't get past Toledo.

😀 8/10
If only because I heard this recently from my roommate (who happens to be one of the Brutus guys 🙂).

😛

Wait a second, there's another report coming in now... well folks, this just in, Fresno State is a bigger joke than any of the two previously mentioned teams!

This would be funny if it wasnt for the fact that Michigan still owns the series. Enjoy it now boys, cause it wont last long that Michigan sucks.

uh... i don't think i get it. someone explain it. i'm really hoping it doesn't have anything to do with the dispute over which state should own the city of toledo, because that'd be the weakest joke ever...

either way, go blue!

Even some of us from Michigan find this funny. 😀

I think Michigan & Rich Rod will make a comeback. I even think there is chance UofM might make a game of it this year. Both teams have looked both good at times and very bad at times. If there ever was a game that OSU should be overconfident on, it should be this one.

There's no doubt Michigan and Rich will. Michigan is a perennial power in college football.

That depends on how you define "owning the series". Sure, if you look at the all time records, Michigan is ahead, simply because they won 21 of the first 24 games in the series, at a time when Michigan was well established and OSU was barely playing. After that, the series has been very competitive, with some runs going both ways. Ultimately that's what makes it a good rivalry, the teams have both been national powers through the years, and have been very evenly matched with each other.

this one was pretty good.

This is that time of year (well all year round if your in the midwest) where Mich/OSU jokes fly back and forth. You'll here the same generic joke used on both sides, with nice little spikes such as this year with Toledo that cant be used against OSU (unless someday OSU loses to Toledo (or Bowling Green since its also on the way) in a year the OSU/Mich game is in Ann Arbor.

no doubt they come back? like their hoops team came back after the fab five fiasco? I'm not at all convinced that RR was the right coach for that team, and I'm 100% sure that, even though he's a 'spread offense' coach, he doesn't have the personnel to run it this year, yet he's still using it, with awful results.

This is the least talented Michigan team I've ever seen.

I'll be tailgating @ Riverwatch Saturday if any OSU fans are going down there.
It's gonna be like 20°F. 🙁

I agree. And I'm still shocked so many Michigan faithful are clinging to the idea that they will be back to where they were in a few years. The same people also thought Mich was going to be good this year, but instead they lose more games than they have in thier ~140 some odd years of football.

Rich Rod threw out a lot of long standing traditions at Michigan (fired the whole staff, all the way down the weight room guys) and basically threw out EVERYTHING and started like it was a new school having thier first season of football, not thier 140th.

I think this was a bad idea and Michgan may never actually recover, some of the long standing traditions that were around previous to Bo, Yost and Chrysler left with Carr. Mich still has a lot of sick records no other team will come close to any time soon. But without maintaining them year in and year out, will eventually lose them.

As some have pointed out, Carr may have had some bad years here and there, but he would NEVER lose to Toledo. He somehow managed to pull a 9 year win streak vs Penn State out of his ass, and even upset OSU on occasions when there were severe under dogs. I dont see Rich Rod doing any of the things. And now that recruiting is in the toilet, recovery is no where in sight. Mich should have promoted from within as they have always done.
