I don't think it will matter much. If Kidd wants any shot at the ring, he better join either the Mavs or the Spurs. If he stays in NJ, he may take the Nets to the finals again only to be beaten by any one of the elite Western teams. It's a no-brainer for Kidd. He should join the Spurs for the money and a shot at the championship.Originally posted by: Storm
I wonder how this affects Kidd's decision....
If he joins the western conference, he wont have the luxury of waiting for them to beat each other up in the playoffs before facing the last western conference team standing in the finals. But if his western conference team makes it, he'll have a distinct advantage over the east.
Too bad Jermaine is re-signing with the Pacers. The Spurs need Zo and Kidd in order to have a shot at the Lakers (GP + Malone) next year.Originally posted by: shady06
honestly, i think a spurs team w/ jermaine oneal can beat a laker team w/ GP and mailman

It's called 7 years 120+ million dollars.Originally posted by: Kev
i dont know why he would stay with the pacers, that frachise is in the gutter if you ask me, and he has a great shot at a title with SA

of course the spurs wont pay him 17 mil a year ( i dont think he is worth nearly that much), but doesnt it suck to play on a team knowing you wont win the title?

Breaking news on ESPN:
"Glove fits...and Lakers are it
Gary Payton has verbally agreed to join the Los Angeles Lakers for their mid-level exception, according to ESPN's David Aldridge. Payton reportedly will make between $4.6 and $4.9 million next year."
I don't usually watch much NBA but if Karl Malone follows and also goes to L.A., I'll be watching that Dream Team.

if you were a coach, would you start payton or fisher? that's a no-brainer...
the lakers have a horrible supporting cast, wtf are you talking about?Originally posted by: Regs
I don't care much for the Lakers. I found it pathetic they lost in the playoffs early with that team and staff.
don't be bitter, the east sucks.Just as long as the Spurs die a tragic death, I'm happy. Bunch of trash talking dicks .

i dont know why the lakers are trying to get older. payton has what, 2 years left? and if they get malone he'll prolly just play a single year
