It's interesting how there's so many subtle messages in this show, coincidence or not.

Notice that it was 3 bald men in the parking lot..
Then Jesse was in really bad shape for a bit, now Hank is worse off than him.

PS. Is it possible to do in reality with what Hank did with that HP bullet?

For that matter, I'm not sure how Jesse is going to be able to travel to and from the laundry/meth lab without compromising the location or Walt.

Upcoming plot complication, for sure.

Plus, I was always thinking that Walt's new assistant was a plant put there to learn the ropes, after which Walt would be expendable. Wonder if Walt was one up on the chicken man about this? :hmm:

I won't say what's in the preview, but you'll get your answer if you watch it. amctv.com.

What I think is funny is that the twins are such great hitmen and even showed the accuracy they have when they shot the gun dealer, but the one guy shot hank 3 times from 10 feet away and didn't get a center mass shot? LOL.

I'm really tired of Jessie's "bitch" at the end of nearly every statement. It's gotten stale, IMO.

I was understanding that as he was toying with hank.

Yeah, Walt's getting better at the drug trade!

After working with a dumbass like Jesse, I don't think Walt was expecting an assistant who is so over-qualified and able to pick everything up instantly. They were fast friends last episode, suddenly the guy is setting up everything before Walt gets there, and now it's evident that he should be protecting his trade secrets a little better.

Walt still has some naivety in him, but surely he realizes that he's most likely signing Gale's death sentence by forcing him out. Right? (Or was that in the preview too :) )

Sure. Drop it in the chamber, hit the slide release, aim, and fire.

The exit from a skull should leave quite the mess when using a hollow point.

Yeah seemed like a random bullet Hank just slid into the gun.

There's an inconsistency where the bullet dropped, cuz when the guy reloaded he was a car length away from where Hank was lying down. Then when he goes to get the axe, the bullet is next to Hank's gun.

I'm just nitpicker'ing.

Well if he had the Final Stand perk he could have crawled over to the bullet while the guy was reloading :D (video game humor)

Anyway, thank god this season finally picked up. I finally caught up and it's been great since ep 5.

Fantastic episode, the most annoying part about it was that Hank sat around like a dumb shit waiting around after being warned. Also he's probably gonna think it was Pinkman who wanted revenge and I wonder how that will play out.

He was having a panic attack, like he's been shown having before.. But he overcame it this time, self preservation turning him into a bad ass.. It made complete sense to me. What an outstanding episode, the best drama on tv right now. Felt like The Cohen Brothers on TV!

You are supposed to. ;)

(Or was that in the preview too :) )

I'm with you in avoiding the previews. Watched one once, felt it spoiled some of the drama of that upcoming episode for me, never again.

Well put and totally agreed!

Nothing about last night? Really slow episode, but rescued at the end by all of the Gus scenes. Holy cow, Gus is WAY more powerful than previously let on.

Gus may not be all that powerful but he definitely outmaneuvered Juan Bolsa and the twins.

He is also positioned to make a lot more money from Walt with the cartel out of the picture for the moment and drug shipments into the country delayed.

Last night's episode was slow but necessary- you know, tie up loose ends and take a breather from the intensity of last week. Don't even have much to say, just that it wasn't bad

He had the power to wipe out Juan while Juan was holed up. That's not something he'd be able to do with fancy footwork alone, that takes serious muscle.

He either tipped off the Federales or hired mercs to hit him.

Clearly Gus has been in the business a long time and would already have the needed connections.

Pretty boring episode... why the scenes with Jesse just being bored?

Intentional foreshadowing of the catastrophic downside of Walt's bringing him back in as a partner.

As Checkov (not that one, silly) said, "A gun introduced in the first act will be fired in the third."

They wanted to underscore what a ticking time bomb "yo yo, bitch" boy is.

After all, this isn't 24. This is written for a more discerning demographic. Because it's on basic cable, it can be.

The writer(s) simply understand pacing. Specifically, they understand that constant action gives you a cartoon, not a decent story.

It's the same artistic principle that makes for soft and loud passages in classical music, slow ballads softly sung that build to a fiercely sung crescendo in pop, and negative space used to highlight what is there in a painting.

In the sports world, it's like the run setting up the pass in football, or why a change-up off your fastball is effective.

Engineer? Think of it as expanding the dynamic range. ;)

No complaints from me. Every episode reaffirms what I already believe - that it's the greatest show ever.
