if walt didn't accidentally shoot himself at the end, what would have happened?

go on the run again?

start cooking again?

i think he plan was to have the cops come all along, I doubt they came in force because someone reported hearing the M60 go off. He IMO would have been taken into custody willingly and died as he really only had weeks to maybe a month or 2 left before the cancer got him.

actually i wonder if the comps comming was a backup plan of his if his plan to shoot everyone didnt work he would still get them by use of the popo

what would they be searching for? they knew that they weren't going to let him walk out of there anyways. it's not like they couldn't kill him then check out what is in his car.
yeah this, that machine gun rig was just something out of a movie, how could they think about that?

I don't think he had a backup plan, he'd probably die waiting for trial.

I think Jesse would have shot him like Walt wanted. Jesse only declined after he saw Walt's gun wound. He knew Walt would die anyway and didn't want to give him the satisfaction of a quicker death or even just doing what Walt wanted. But if it came down to letting him live or die I don't think Jesse would have let him live.

Barring that Walt could have shot himself or surrendered to the police. It's actually possible he didn't die and remained in custody anyway. I don't see why he'd bother going on the run again, he was already to turn himself in anyway, and probably had little or no money or connections. Cooking again seems like the last thing he'd want to do..

I am certain Walt called the police (or had Badger/Skinny Pete do it).

He couldn't have known for certain his plan would work, but he set things up so he would still win in the end. Had his plan failed the cops would have still shown up, found him dead (shot by Jack), found Jesse in chains, discovered the "Heisenberg" blue meth operation, and siezed the weapons used to kill Hank and Gomie (which could/would be matched after Skylar reported the location of the bodies).

Jesse might have shot him if he didn't notice the wound but I don't think that's why he didn't shoot. I think it was more along the lines of "he's dead/dying why should I pull the trigger?" Saves Jesse some guilt. I also think there was a bit of him feeling sad for Walt, sure he wanted to kill him for lots of reasons but at that moment he knew Walt wasn't going to get away. Walt became a vulnerable person again and not the invulnerable Heisenberg. Jesse wanted to kill Heisenberg not Walt.

Beautiful Finale.

I will be sad to see the show gone, but, I'm glad it ran and came to a proper end.

Looking forward to watching the Odenkirk Spin Off.

So glad we didn't have a "Sopranos" type ending!

Anyways, I think my favorite part was Walt going through the cook-operation Jesse was running there. Checking the pressure on that valve, seeing the great work his "student" was doing, appreciating it. In the end, he was a teacher. It was a touching ending to an amazing show.

I understand why from a plot perspective, but nitpicking at his decisions... Telling lydia that he poisoned her was a stupid move.

He knew that she won't instantly die, she certainly has enough time to call in a revenge kill on walt's family.

I think my favorite scene was when Walt came clean to Skyler that he became engrossed in what he did - that he'd made up for all those decades of living in monotony.

Made his death seem all the more peaceful.

Yeah I guess the machine gun rig is in character but I still can't get over the fact they did not search his car. It's not like the gang were idiots, they were running a complex meth operation and organized the precise & timed assassination of multiple people in prison.

I usually try not to go down this road because arguing over a fictional show is silly, but I don't know why you're hung up on the car search. They took his keys away, which pretty much eliminates any threat from the car they may have. The only reason you "can't believe they didn't search the car" is because you know there's something they should have caught. In fact the machine was worthless anyway without his keys which they tried to take, but they left on the table and got complacent. If one of the guys was smart enough to keep Walt's keys in their own pocket, his whole plan would have been ruined.

What a satisfying ending to a great show. I just wish there was something else like this I could get into. Looking forward to walking dead returning next couple of weeks.

If the only thing people can complain about is "I can't believe they didn't search his car," then it was a highly successful finale.

Well done, Vince. What a great season this was.

Both are in witness protection. Plus Lydia has had people hit on necessity, not revenge.

I imagine her utmost priority will be to ensure her daughter is looked after.

I really liked this too.

I felt like every other season, Walt tried to segregate Heisenburg and Walter White, shifting between identifying himself as the family man looking out for people and a drug kingpin. The guy who's in the empire business one episode, and out the next.

This last episode...he's more self aware than ever before. He knows he enjoyed being the drug kingpin, and manipulating those around him. And yet, almost counter intuitively maintains a level of humanity to achieve a more positive ending towards those he cares/sympathizes for (his family, Jesse).
