So how realistic was their electromagnet trick anyway? I know magnets fuck up hard drives, but that seemed a bit far fetched...

im not sure, ibe held powerful magnets that will scramble a display from 8 feet away, no idea if you had a bigger mangnet and a lot more power if you would be able to do it from 40+feet

i'm guessing that's just a secondary side effect they're not really counting on ( a quick googling seems to say it doesn't work ), they probably just wanted to shock the drive. maybe miscellaneous ferrous parts get dislodged and scraped the platters.

I can't watch this show as it airs. Once the season is over I will watch all episodes when I please. Maybe all of them back to back to back, no waiting a week between each episode :D

Best show on TV.

Awesome, tonight's episode is called 'Madrigal' so you'd think it will be exploring the German front company behind the laundro-lab.

It was interesting how Walt seemed to go out of his way to be remembered by the Denny's employees (making "52" with the bacon, saying it was his birthday, showing ID, leaving a $100 bill). Obviously one would expect he would want the opposite, and he's more than smart enough to be careful, so he is either doing it intentionally or is so desperate that he wants to get caught and so he is acting reckless.

Yep, the $100 bill at the end was very telling. That was not a mistake Walt would make, so he did it on purpose. Just as a guess, but it could be him laying down a false trail because someone is getting too close. If either the DEA or the cartel is closing in Walt would want to be seen and remembered somewhere far away from where he really is. Or he knows the end is near and is just giving the money away.

The key point of the opening episode was Walt's gargantuan ego taking center stage. The "Because I said so" and the forgiving of Skylar at the end are harbingers of Walt losing touch with the old Walt and becoming more Heisenberg. Now that he's beaten Gus and erased what he thinks is the last of the evidence he feels completely infallible.

Just saw that Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) is getting 3-to-1 odds for Best Supporting Actor at Gold Derby, only Peter Dinklage is getting better odds. That would be pretty cool for him to go out with a win to make more of a name for himself, but IMO his Season 3 performance was his best by a mile.

F'ing show has been interrupted by an Amber Alert. I have no idea what's going on in the cafe.

God damn it, again, i did not hear what Walt said at the end. Same thing happened last week. So what was the last line Walter said?

It's amusing that AMC follows Breaking Bad with this Small Town Security show. I'm thinking they might not appeal to the same audience. :hmm:

Wow, so Walt still wants to cook. He barely gets out with his life.. brother-in-law still investigating things.. broke but still owns the car wash, yet he wants back in. On the one hand I'm happy because it will be like old times, on the other you just know this is going to end badly. Great episode btw, totally made up for a lacking premier.

He is on a power trip and is really the main character that has gone downhill morally wise compared to the others still alive.

Great acting by Paul in the scene where the cigarette was 'found', btw.

And Mike's face when he left the interview room... wow.

Does the woman work for the German company? I don't remember them ever explaining who she was.

Also wondering if Hank already knows about Walter from looking at the laptop. He said it was encrypted, but who knows. He also didn't look to happy when his soon to be former boss was talking about Gus being right under his nose the entire time... looked like he felt similarly frustrated/confused/betrayed.

Season 2 is the greatest season for any drama on cable TV ever, plain and simple, watch it. All the best characters are introduced in S02 (Gus, Sal, Mike) and watching Walt and Jesse start to build their empire on the streets and cook in that RV is just so much fun to watch.

Not just that but the dynamics of the set up for the whole season was brilliantly done. It wasn't until after the season was over that it set in that in order to start the season the way they did they must have had it all planned out to the end. The way it all tied into itself was great.

You can tell that the Vince Gilligan (the creator) Knows what he wants for the series and a huge +1 to him for not dragging it on for the sake of dragging it on. He knows where he wants it to end and there it shall end.

This is one of the smartest written television I have seen in a long time. As far as TV goes it may be one of the best period. It never gave in to cliché conventions (which sopranos did) Its never done anything "trendy". The acting has always been top notch each character fits their role perfectly.
