Branson, Missouri - What to do???

I am going to Branson, Missouri for a week in July.

What is there to do? Any sightseeing, biking, trekking, etc???

Please give me some tips regarding this place

Cancel that trip, and go somewhere fun. I went there a couple of years ago. It sucked. If you're really into sightseeing, biking, trekking, etc. Go to Colorado. Now that's fun.

Went to Colorado last July. It was good but sleeping at 9500 ft was not fun.

The place is like a hick tourist trap...a lot like Gatlinburg TN. It's main appeal is midwestern grandmas/grandpas that want to take their grand kids somewhere fun. Expect to see a lot of BBQ places, rodeo style entertainment, and people like Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers mentioned a lot 🙂

If done that. It's like having asthma, isn't it? 😀

LOL! I was going to say this, but didn't know of a nice way to say it. I guess I should have just been blunt like you.

I'm usually careful with my words, but there wasn't any other way to put it 😀

We got a free condo rental there a few years back, and we were miserable. The highlight was they had some kick-ass BBQ restaurants.

Too lazy to google the actual pic, but I have to be format conscious when posting pictures on the internet.

Silver Dollar City is fun for a day or half a day, but other than that it's basically shows and crappy tourist trap places like the Titanic "museum" and Ripley's Believe it or Not. If you're not into family comedy shows, music shows or a combo of the two you'll be bored to tears after a day, if that.

The average age of tourists there is probably close to 65. 🙂

I grew up in Springfield (~30-40 minutes north) and we basically only went to go to Silver Dollar City on occasion.

Vegetable medley, real silverware, linen napkins and a magnetic tray!!

What a country

Unfortunately Yakov is touring the country this year and won't be returning to Branson until October. Such a shame the OP will be missing the candlelit dinner theatre!

OP, do you have other options or is this something which is use/lose? As others have pointed out, Branson isn't exactly a cosmopolitan place. While the locale and entertainment/dining options might suit some, it would be helpful to know what else is in the realm of possibilities as well as your preferences.

You could drive to Bentonville Arkansas and see the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Wal-Mart visitor center.
Branson got famous because the country stars got tired of living on buses and bought homes and theaters there. The point of Branson is that you travel to the entertainers.Like Vegas but without the sinful casinos.

Get some autographs!
