got an old IBM 286 running DOS(don't know what version), external 5.25 floppy, internal 3.25, and a cavernous 20meg HD. Don't know about the memory. Plays Wolfenstein 3D just fine--in a 2inx2in window. . .😉

I think that takes the cake. Unless someone out there can claim to defecate in a legible fashion. :Q

I have a working Mac XL that sports a 5mhz 68000 processor, 10MB hard drive, 2MB's or ram(its maxed out 😀 )and a built in 12 inch black and white monitor.

I have one of the original "classic" Macs. Still runs as far as I know, but haven't touched it in years (since I picked it up). Eventually, it'll be a fishtank.

My slowest, running box, is my server: AMD 1.0Ghz. 🙂

If I was really rich, the slowest wouldn't be slower than my fast box. All I do is work and play, boys gotta have their toys. My toys involve PCs.

I have an old 8086 with 128k ram, but I'm running some ram-doubler software. In fact I re-installed it so many times, I can't remember, but I do know that the result is over 2 terrabytes of effective memory. God I love that stuff.

I used to have an old ADAM computer, but my oldest computer that I have at home now is my 386sx 16Mhz.
Heh It was the fastest machine on the block, cause the next best thing was just a 286sx 12Mhz.

I know someone who has a Tandy 1000(I think it was an XL?), and he also has a Tandy dual 5.25" floppy machine too(not sure what models they are).
Haha I'm sure he would sell it for a song cause it's just collecting dust in the closet.

i have a few 486's a few 386 desktops and i have a Pentium 75mhz laptop...I have one of the 486's running with a 12inch monochrome monitor, and i have the laptop still running too.

Ok realistically, I use this for offsite contracting work:

P-150 laptop (Eurocom, ugh),
Keeps rebooting at odd times (bad ram I think),
Battery will not recharge anymore so I have to keep using the power adapter/chord,
CD-Rom barely reads any manufactured CD's, and will definately not read any burned CD's,
Replaced the original 1 gig Hdisk with a 5 gig, woohoo!

Not worth the shipping price, especially to Canada. 😉
I remember a Tandy 1000, A, EX (had that one, had a stupid proprietary PLUS card expansion system), SX (we upgraded to that one ASAP after the EX "loaner"), HX (another PLUS setup), TX (a 286!), SL (w/digitized sound before SoundBlaster!), TL (286 ver.) and more variants of the TL series, RLX (kinda sucked, but was tiny!) 🙂

I don't think I got 'em all... Hey - I loved my Tandy computers! 🙂 I used to have friends saying "Tandy sucks!" then they'd come over to my place and be amazed how Space Quest 1 actually had 16 colours instead of 4 or Hercules mono, and I had 3-voice music far better than their PC squeaker. 😀

ahhhhhh..... those were the days.

my brother has the worst pc..

-Pentium 1 at a whopping 75megahertz
-500 meg HD
-No Fan.. his stopped work so he has just his window fan pointing at the heatsink.. hes too cheap to buy another one
-8 megs of ram i think
-no cdrom or floppy

-Bubbadu

lololol

Well my dad still has his commodore, not working though. But his 33mhz compaq still runs fine... upgraded to 8 megs of ram! 4 to 8 for over $150 bucks (was quite awhile ago though) 🙂

A long, long, long time ago, I upgraded my XT machine from 512K to 640K memory for around $100

My web server is a 75mhz/24MB NT4 workstation with Apache
My File/print server is a 100mhz/128mb 2k pro workstation (8MB free on OS drive)

"Cake"? Eeeewww! Poor choice of words given the topic!

All these chaps have it easy. I have to carve messages in me bum usin' a large pen knife. Screen refreshes are a bitch!
