**** Bad experience with DynastyExpress ****

I bought over $5000 worth of parts last year and the last deal went sour. (Took a week to process before it ship for a few items they claimed instock)
Give them a second chance 4 days ago and they screwup even more.

Horrible reseller ratings from other customers.

Avoid this company: DynastyExpress.

I received a myfavoritepc last week. It was upgraded from 400 to 466 Mhz but it looks like they also upgraded the price. I was expecting to pay $150 after the mail-in rebate since I'm in Florida and supposedly the on-site service plan taht was required of others is not available in Florida, thus saving $100. Instead they billed me $249 + $50 shipping then minus a $50 mail-in-rebate = $250.

Anyone have a link to the original thread? I can't find it amongst the threads or in the archives.

Does anyone have a screenshot of the order page w/o the warranty? I usually save the web page of the order but apparently did not this time.

Moan - $100 too much!

Worst rebate processor: TCA Fulfillment Services

Be careful of any rebate offers handled by TCA Fulfillment Services (www.tcarebates.com, New Rochelle, New York) because they're the worst rebate processor in the business.

They lost my rebates for a NASCAR Thrustmaster racing wheel (CompUSA) and an Acer scanner, and for my NEC powered speakers bought from Fry's, the rebate check was a little too low. They also seem to have lost my second submission for the NASCAR wheel. Considering that I've never never dealt with TCA any other times, this is a poor batting average, especially since friends of mine also had problems with TCA, although the ones whose NEC speaker checks were $1 too high didn't complain.

OTOH I found that another rebate processor, Express Services, in Walled Lake, Michigan, was very responsive. My Casio calculator rebate got lost, so I e-mailed them copies of my receipt and proof of purchase, and within a week they delivered the rebate check.

Hey, anyone else here familiar with Egghead auctions.

Yesterday, I had the same thing happen to me that happened a couple
of months ago. Very strange.

I made a bid on an auction. I was outbid by a LARGE amount (which
means two larger bids came in, since only one larger bid would
show up as a small increment on mine). The auction end time came
and then the auction kept getting extended without the price
changing (the "last bid" time kept increasing, which means someone
was making small incremental bids below the actual bid required
to win...a bug with Egghead auction software makes this possible).
Anyway, about half an hour or so passed, about long enough for
most people to have moved on (but I am more persistent), then
suddenly, I was the high bidder again! That means at least two
people dropped out. Ultimately, I got the lot for a very good
price, but I did have to make a couple more bids.

What's going on here? Seems like someone is trying to manipulate
the system. Perhaps they figure they'll overbid the item, wait
until everyone moves on, call Egghead and cancel their bid with
some excuse, then swoop down and buy it with a cheap bid under
another account...Anyone seen this before.

As I said, I've seen this twice now...

I also see lots of auctions where it appears someone keeps the
auction open by making lowball bids until the price gets to where
they want it. A lot of auctions run by "just deals" seem to go
this way...

Any other experiences?

DO NOT buy Samsung products with rebates that go to CPG in Phoenix, AZ. I just got off the phone and they claim they have no record of my $30 rebate for a Syncmaster 900NF Monitor. I called Samsung directly and they said there's nothing they can do because it's so old. Funny... they suggest waiting 8 to 10 weeks for processing, not much wiggle room Samsung.

And get this, the person I talked to at CPG intimated that they receive between 700K to a million pieces of mail a week! And added that the chances of loosing a couple hundred pieces here and there are inevitable. I'm done with all rebates! If it's not a coupon or a sale price, I'm not buying. NEVER AGAIN! Caveat emptor.

Finally got my 20 PS2s... here we go e*ay.
