[brag] Just found out my little sister got 1580 on the SAT!

I think I got 1100s in mine a while ago...then again, I took that test on a whim and with a pounding headache.

Good job to your sis!

15? What year is that...a freshman in HS, if that? Just wondering, because why is she taking the SATs at such a young age? Either way, congrats (unless they were the pre-SATs, which is just a projection and a scam 😉)

1580 is plenty to get her into an Ivy League with a good GPA, extracurriculars, and the like.

I don't really think so. at least not with harvard, yale, or MIT. depends what ivy she is aiming for(or colleges on par with ivy).
GPA comes first, expect to take about 5 AP classes and score all 5.0 on them
good SAT score
massive extracurriculars
community service (100 hours+)
race also plays a role here, if you are black or hispanic, go out and chill, just maintain a 3.5gpa and you can go to ANY college you want.

well she's entering the university of washington early (no high school), so we're not really concerned about what it takes to get into undergrad ivys 🙂 but yea, the only student from this region that got into MIT last year (a good friend of mine) had like a 3.0 in HS. stellar extra-curriculars and letters of rec though, and her dad is alum.

regarding MIT, my friend got into MIT with only a 14 something on her sat and a 4.4 gpa. She said that they sent her a packet of statistics in the mail.
8% of applicants had a 1600 sat
67% had at least one 800 on either sat/sat2

No offense but how do you get a 3.0 in HS? HS is cake. Congrats to your sister though. No high school? That's amazing.

Congratulations Gopunk's sister! Convince her to come to the UW, we could use some of that intelligence. She should work for the Daily, maybe make them not suck.

we don't give a FVCK, SAT math is a joke

hey that's not a bad idea... she's a pretty good writer (a lot better than what's in there now...) and very well read

Yeah OK last i checked 1360 was not too shabby, maybe not genious level but well above average. I only knew of 5 or 6 other people who scored better than that in my graduating class of 250. I notice you didn't tell us how you did. Retard.

gopunks dad can beat ur teacher's husband up 😀

Congrats to your sister! That's really, really cool. I wonder if she'll be one of those people who takes it over just to get the 1600. Colleges love that stuff.
