It's shameful that someone would do this morose act to someone's private prayers.

Obama's Private Prayer 'Leaked'

Senator Barack Obama probably thought that the prayer he penned in the solitude of his King David hotel room in Jerusalem would remain between him and the Almighty. But an Orthodox Jewish student had other ideas.

Following Jewish tradition, Obama donned a yarmulke and went to the Western Wall, Judaism's holiest site, where shortly before dawn on Thursday he stuffed his prayer into a crevass between the giant white stones, hewn over 2,000 years ago. Traditionally such prayers, and there are over a million every year, some arriving by fax and email, are collected twice a year and buried on the Mount of Olives. It is considered taboo to read the prayers.

But after Obama and his entourage left the sacred site, an orthodox seminary student went to the Wall, fished out Obama's personal note and delivered it to Maariv newspaper, which duly printed the senator's prayer.

The newspaper's decision to publish Obama's private words was "an outrage", said Rabbbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, supervisor of the Western Wall. "It damages the personal, deep part of every one of us that we keep to ourselves," the rabbi told Army Radio. "The note placed between the stones of the Western Wall are between a person and his maker. It is forbidden to read them or make use of them."

Obama didn't pray for an election victory, a lottery win to help pay for his campaign, or for his Republican rival Senator John McCain to be felled by lightning or a pecadillo. On the contrary; his prayer hints at the struggle within, how Obama is seeking divine guidance to surmount the obstacles that lie ahead of him in his lonely, awesome challenge to become the next president of the United States. On hotel stationary, he penned the following prayer, according to Maariv, which ran a photo of the note: "Lord, protect my family and me," Obama wrote. "Forgive me my sins and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will."

Obama, now finishing up the European leg of his tour, has not commented on his private prayer being made public in Jerusalem.

If this is really true then this is shameful.

It goes to show that for some of these people, all the tradition and faith surrounding their religion is meaningless.

I guess that really goes for all religions though... shrug.

I sincerely doubt it was staged. I'm also certain however that when he wrote it he considered the fact that someone might grab it and put it out on the internet or wherever. As a presidential candidate you would have to be a moron to put anything that could hurt you on that sheet of paper which you are just going to leave there.

What does Katie and Brian and Charlie have to do with his prayer being leaked?

I don't really want someone who is going to lead my country being "an instrument" of anyone's will or that he wants to be said instrument.

I don't think this was staged although I am sure BO would know it could be read. Alas its only a bit longer than something from a fortune cookie - not exactly deep stuff.

I tell you what was staged though - those break-ups with Wright, Michael Pfleger (the kook white priest at Trinity) and the charade with Jackson at Fox.

Obama and the Alinsky types are smear masters who understand that trying to fight a smear just keeps it alive. BO couldn't keep saying he didn't know Wright was saying the things he did because nobody believed him. People had antipathy for Wright and a question in their mind about why BO didn't move away from him - even as Oprah did.

What BO and Wright did was pull a jujitsu and stage a bust up. Wright goes and talks trash about Obama when he knows the spotlight is on him (before the National Press Club). After Wright goes off, BO gets to play the stunned and betrayed follower - and gets to reject Wright in the present the way he didn't do in the past. BO ended up "looking" like he felt insulted by Wright just like a lot of public felt insulted by Wright. BO gained a new position with that manoeuvre.

The next problem was getting rid of the Church - thats where Michael Pfleger comes in. These people arent that stupid or anti BO that Pflegler would go into Trinity just a few weeks after the Wright fuss and talk trash. Pfleglers trash talk (Hillary quest being ruined by a black man) was intentional so that BO could play the wounded bird again and dump Trinity.

Jackson on Fox was also a stunt to make Obama look mainstream. Recall that Jackson's words came the same days Obama was trying to tack to the center with great velocity on many issues. Remember Jackson was on Fox and not MSNBC so he had just the crowd he was looking for. Jackson knows all about hot mics and he used that one to sound like he resented Obama's seemingly tough talk about errant behavior among blacks. His comments and his apolgy were very scripted. Jacksons whole aplogy sounded like talking points for a move to center by Obama.

Even many talking heads on TV were saying "oh gee this actually helps Obama because now he seems distant from of Jackson". Of course it helped BO because it was planned that way. I am sure Jackson was promised something if BO should win (they were friendly before - just like BO and Sharpton are).

I am sure BO and Wright and Jackson are still buds and probably laugh how easy it is to game the media.

Butterbean IS a racist. His usual diatribes are to lump in gays, non-whites, and criminals all together as being undeserving of even the most basic human rights. Do I need to link examples for you?

How long are you going to keep beating this fake "If you're against Obama you're a racist" thing? You've been challenged over and over to provide any support for this, and you don't seem to be able to.
