He's banned for trolling, so let's not bump any of his stupid-ass threads, shall we?

When did he get banned? Link?

How is saying that this is a christian nation equivalent to saying nasty things about atheists?

If I was to say "this is a white nation" how would people of other colors feel?

Saying the US is a "Christian nation" implies other religions, or the lack thereof, are not welcome nor citizens. It also implies the nation is based on Christianity and only for Christians.

You are completely and totally full of crap.
It says that this nation is predominately christian, which is true.

Wow, well, no surprise. I'm an atheist, and I agree - DVK916 was blatantly trolling.

OK. Walk up to the nearest black guy and inform him that this is a "White Nation." Hell, wear that saying on a T-Shirt.

See what happens.

When you phrase something as such, you imply it defines it. Christian does NOT define the US. The correct saying would be "The US is a religiously free nation."

Race doesn't equate because you can not choose your race.

Irrelevant. You claim the US can be labeled a "Christian Nation" simply because the majority are Christian. Choice has nothing to do with it. What is in the majority does.

That means you can label the US according to ANY majority.

Therefore, according to your logic, "White Nation" is valid.

What is funny is the fact that you are trying to wiggle out of that now, because you see how absurd and offensive it is.

Just capitulate and move on.

You clearly feel way more strongly about this than I do. I do not find it to be a nasty thing to say. You aren't going to convince me that it is a nasty thing to say and I clearly am not going to convince you otherwise. I will stop arguing it but I do not agree with you.

Funny how you find "White Nation" offensive, but "Christian Nation" not offensive.

Maybe you should actually take the time to think about that a bit. When you discover the answer, you'll understand why "Chrsitian Nation" is offensive AND incorrect.

There is a book I have seen at Barnes & Noble during my last few trips, the title is something along the lines of "What Our Founders Really Believed" or "What Our Forefathers Really Believed" or something like that. It looked interesting and was in the discount book area, I might pick it up one of these days.
