Afer reading the second article and watching the video, I think they should really go after those girls and the police department. It's just awful they think it's just a "prank." It's a sexual assault any way you try to spin it. I say sue the police department for violating his civil rights if they don't arrest the girls. The boy has the right to equal protection under the law. They should slap those girls with some hate crime charges. Let them enjoy that equality.

Amen. I flag about 20 videos a week on youtube and 95% of them go down. The sickest thing is some have been up for months with sometimes tens of thousands of views and within half a day of flagging something its gone. Ive even taken channels down (usually reuploaders).

Am I the only one cleaning up Youtube? If you saw half the crap I flag you would feel sad for todays youth. Its terrible. I blame a lack of moral teaching in schools. The do everything that Im not going to even mention here. If you can think it, its on Youtube. Sick, sick, sick sh*t.

And those girls deserve to be indentified and publicly humiliated by being drug into court. An eye for an eye. That poor boy was traumatized and his future is unrecovably altered as a result. I would sue their parents as well for lack of proper supervision.

It's all about perception, though. It sounds like you were a bit older when you had your pants torn, and I assumed you weren't being restrained and mocked during the process. You make it sound playful, which gives the event a very context. Similarly for your second story, no bullying was taking place, your friend acted of his own volition. The main issue here is control, and what type of control you, your friend, or the boy in the OP had in the situation.

Oh, I feigned a little resistance but I wasn't going to hit a girl. In fact, the main reason I brought it up is how similarly he looked when "resisting" (I watched the news clip without audio so I didn't have that to go by). My mother did flip out when I came home in my boxer breifs.

It the second story, they made him walk home to his parents a mile and a half away completely naked. Well, perhaps not completely because it's possible that he found some of his clothes but I doubt he found any thing important; one sock would be in a tree, his underwear under a pile of leaves, his other sock under a rock, etc. I think that's bullying. I'm sure he had a heck of a time explaining it to his parents.

Likely, and hopefully, the kid will lick his wounds, move on, and be no worse off for this event. However, an event of sexually related bullying where the kid is stripped of control could be damaging. Why do you think there is a higher incidence of receiving sexual abuse as a child among sex offenders? Is this the same case? Nope. Did these girls "rape" the kid? Nope. Will this kid likely become a sexual predator? I would lean toward nope. But it's a pretty damned shitty/messy situation. I think it would at least serve the young man well to see these girls punished, even if it's simply some community service and a personal apology.

I just think we might be making assumptions as to how the kid feels. He may have felt that it was a harmless prank and laughed about it until the video got out and he had to explain it to his parents. If he's expressing outrage, he may be doing it to side with them. Remember, though, I'm hypothesizing based on an audio-less viewing of the video. You meay be entirely right but I could easily see one of those other experiences being taken out of context and creating a similar "outrage."

The girls are 14. You will NOT ruin their lives by pressing charges. Most likely they will do some community service and then their records will be cleaned.

The only thing you do by pressing charges is ensure that they face some type of punishment. Otherwise you might have "my little girl is an angel" type mom dismiss the whole thing as no big deal.


I think we have seen enough stories about moms watching their kids fight or parents who ignore their children bullying others to know that you shouldn't rely on parents to do the right thing.

Based on that story they could charge the girls with child porn if the mom doesn't want to press charges.
