Come on BOBDN - don't be a Clinton - tell the truth;)

If the Bush administration can justify spending hundreds of billions of dollars in Iraq to fix what their lies have caused they can spend the money needed here at home to fund airline and homeland security.

I'd like to see them explain to the American people why they can throw away money due to the lies they told us in Iraq but not for our safety here at home.

I wonder how many Democrat Senators voted for the Homeland Security Appropriations Bill

Very interesting.

I'll tell you what's "very interesting."

That you would try to place responsibility for Bush's mess with Congress.

Do you find Bush's request for $87 billion interesting as well?

Well, let's see here:

The House voted on the $87 Billion measure 303-125. It also passed 87-12 in the Senate. Isn't the purpose of Congress to approve legislation?

Ironically, by stopping that white-house bound plane those victims did great harm to this country. If the terrorists had "succeeded", the largest threat to security both in the U.S. and abroad (dubya) would have been eliminated.

Speaks very poorly of congress to be duped by a person too dumb to be in office(according to folks like yourself)

Nope. We can discuss the fact that weapons are being brought onto commercial airliners and people are leaving weapons in commercial airliner lavatories for months wihtout detection.

But I don't think you want to discuss that. You changed the subject.

In blowing up his house? Too bad he was in Floriduh at the time.

I just love the brilliance of the left sometimes. Facts? What use are those in forming an opinion?

But on the subject of box cutters, I dont see how you can stop those from being taken onto airplane short of full strip search and 100% baggage inspection.

Fully fund airport security. Install metal detectors. Unless someone invents a plastic box cutter the metal detector will detect the metal box cutters.

Also secure airliners on the tarmack and have security on the planes with support crews who have opportunities to place weapons if left alone on aircraft.

They do have plastic box cutters.

You would only need to hide a razer blade in your carry on luggage. Given the size of the blade(thickness), i think it would be fairly easy to get it past the x-ray machines.

And what was the response? Another one of your cognitively dissonant strawmen?

No, sorry Bob. YOU continue changing the subject.

Now, back to the topic at hand...... I wonder why all those Republican and Democratic congressmen approved this bill then?

And where is the other member of their little conspiracy?

Just, as usual, not willing to spend any effort to research his "facts". Much easier to stake a claim and move along to the next post.

Send them a PM. Maybe they'll let you join. But I can't for the life of me understand why you'd want to.

It's cognitive DISSIDENCE. If you're going to use my phrases please use them properly.

As for the subject of this thread, it's the fact that people are able to bring contraband onboard commercial airliners over two years
after September 11.

IMO due to the Bush administration's lack of funding due in part to their record budget deficit and more so their waste of hundreds of billions of dollars on their unnecessary, illegal, immoral invasion of Iraq.

Hundreds of billions for Iraq. Nothing for security in the USA. What a disgrace.
