I bought both DVDs months ago but never got a change to watch them. Just saw the first one and I thought it was an awesome movie.

when is the third coming out?

The Bourne Ultimatum is scheduled to come out next year sometime, most likely a summer flick.

Been reading the books the last few days (guy at the postal facility I'm stuck in has a stack of books, including Identity and Ultimatum... No Supremacy though).

It's been quite a while since I saw the movies but from what I've seen thus far of the books they are essentially a completely separate entity.

Yeah, I've always been a big fan of the movies. One thing I liked is how they don't go overbored with the technology. It is there, but not the "omginyourface" style Hollywood likes to cram down your throats (where a lot of it turns out to be horribly inaccurate). Instead you see things like him using a phonebook for a phone number.

Bourne Ultimatum (the book) sucks... seems like the writer (Robert Ludlum) hurriedly (in a hurried or hasty manner) put it together just to make some money.

Bummer :(

That sounds like Hannibal. A book written just to milk the franchise :(

Yes the books are quite different. The movies really only borrowed the character not the plot. (The plot is so complicated anyway it would be hard to fit it into even 3 movies).

The first one is the best, and the third, while still pretty awesome, I think is the worst because it does seem a little bit rushed.

I kinda agree. I like the movies and I like the books. I really liked the first book. The second book is pretty good, but the third book is blah. I got just over halfway through it and quit reading it and forgot about it. Not worth the read.

So, is Jason Bourne going to be in his 50's for this movie like he is in the book (as if anything from the books actually make it into the movie....)?

I finally got to see the second one yesterday, and I completely agree.

I'll probably pick up the books

The books are only superficially relevant to the movies.

Good books though.

2nd one would have been awesome if it wasn't for the vomit inducing camera switching.

every second during an action scene the camera flipped from one angle to another, and you could never figure out what exactly was going on. it was meant to create more "action" but it almost made me sick.

First movie..... 9/10 for my rating
Second movie..... 6/10

I rated the second one lower for 2 reasons... The camera was too shaky and the action wasn't as good. The first movie was just cool because he didn't know who he was and there was more suspense because of this... One of my favorite dialogue sequences is when he's in the diner and says something like, "I know the license plate numbers of all 6 cars in the parking lot, the guy over there is the last person you want to pick a fight with because he knows how to handle himself, there are 3 exits to this place, etc... I don't know why I know all this..." It was just a cool sequence.

The second movie was a little too in your face...but still cool because of the acting and overall story. They could have just done better. Too much european influence on the filming style.

What I didn't like about the 2nd film was that Jason Bourne didn't get to avenge her death in a showdown. The killer died in a frickin' car accident. Boo!
