every second during an action scene the camera flipped from one angle to another, and you could never figure out what exactly was going on. it was meant to create more "action" but it almost made me sick.

I really hated that about the 2nd one. I liked the directing style of the first director way better.

What I didn't like about the 2nd film was that Jason Bourne didn't get to avenge her death in a showdown. The killer died in a frickin' car accident. Boo!

but bourne did cause the car accident and would say that bourne did kill him.

i like the first 9/10, the second 8/10

hopefully it will carry on closely. i would say that between the first 2 you could put a screen with the words "3yrs later" and then just fade into the 2 one if you wanted to to make a ~4.25hr long movie, it followed that close.

i hope they just dont make the 3rd for $$$$ and actually have a good, following concept

I loved both movies. Well, I watched them back to back so they are one big movie to me and I enjoyed it thoroughly. There was just something great about the dialogue and the overwhelming sense that no matter what they throw at Bourne he will always affectively be 1 step ahead. It is really how I'd imagine some super trained killer would be. Cool and calm under every circumstance and plans for every situation ahead of time regardless of resources.

I think the 2 movies are great for different reasons. The first one is great for the whole "holy hell what or who am I" situation. And the second one is great for the whole "holy hell, you rejects have no idea who you just screwed with".

Didn't know there was a 3rd in the making, hope it is quality.

Those movies PISS ME OFF, especially the second one.

I read the novel and then watched the film and there was NO resemblance between the two at ALL!

(Well, except the name of the movie and the name of the character...)

I think you would LOVE the books then, if you enjoyed the movie for those reasons. Trust me!

that's not necessarily a bad thing. a movie can't hope to replicate all the plot lines of a 600 page novel, so it makes sense to pick and choose. i think the first movie suffered because the script floundered between following the book and blazing its own trail. the second movie got it right by ignoring the book except for character inspiration.

Well, the books were set during the Cold War. Since we've been out of the Cold War for about 15 years now, changes to the point of unrecognizable were inevitable unless the producers/directors wanted to set the story during the Cold War.

The books are mind blowing... Yes, even the third one.

I really don't like their choice of actor in the movies though. Bourne needs to be able to change his face from soft to hard for the movie. Matt only has one expression, IMHO.

That said, I still enjoy the movies, but neither reach 9/10 for me.

Agree with the crap camera work in the second. They said they did it to intensify the scenes, but I think they went way overboard. One of the big draws to the first movie was the new type of fighting and action where they literally "pick each other apart piece by piece". You lose all of that when you play with the shaky cam.

That said, this is probably my favorite "series" so far. If I can't decide on what movie to watch, I throw in a Bourne.

Yeah, we had to sit close to the screen when I saw Supremacy at the movies and the overdone shakey cam gave my wife and I headaches. I actually posted on here about how bad it was when I got back home.

It's been quite a while since I saw the movies but from what I've seen thus far of the books they are essentially a completely separate entity.

Yeah, the books were enjoyable in their own right...but the movies pretty much just lifted character names (not characters, just names) and the concept of a secret agent with amenisa and then did their own thing with it.

Seriously. I'm not sure if I liked that movie or hated it....because I have no fvcking idea what was happening %60 of the time, and %100 of the time during action sequences. Some one should inform the director that the tripod was recently invented.

Loved both movies. Damon erased my doubts in the first movie. I think he's perfect for the type of role (even if he doesnt match the book desceription) because he's unassuming ooking, which is believable for his profession. I also loved how he nailed the focused intensity at times, especially on the rooftop sniper scene and some of his fights and escapes.

And I guess mark me down for loving the Euro influence on both movies, both the locations, the mood, lighting, weather, etc. the camera in the action scenes in #2 was a tad overdone, but it certainly didnt ruin the movie.

I think I will read the books, but the cold war setting is a downer. I dont like reading stuff set in recently dated political climates. I guess I'd be more lenient if it was something older, like WWII, even though that makes no sense.

I like the books and the movies...however, I would like to see a movie series (or maybe an HBO miniseries :) ) actually following the books. :)
