So nobody here can value taking an older car and maybe fixing it up? Now, maybe I wouldn't have bought a car with so many miles, but enough of the "OMG LOL 1983" crap. Seriously.
My car is 15 years old and I get compliments on it all the time.
Nothing wrong with older vehicles if they are kept up right.
Also my friend's parents have a Toyota Avalon that is rolling on about 250K now I believe, still going strong...
The only thing 99% of the lemmings on this board are concerned with is gas mileage, resale value, and blending with the crowd - and, of course, the all-important Honda / Toyota badges on the fenders.
Many just don't understand (or refuse to accept) the fact that not everyone likes or desires the latest cookie - cutter Civic or Accord, some people really don't give a crap about gas mileage, and not everyone cares about resale value. Some people would vastly prefer compromising on these things in order to have a car with a little distinction, something not everyone else has, something that sets them apart. Many (like myself) would absolutely hate it if they were to go out to a parking lot and say "now which of these 30 green Honda Civics is mine?"
Some people just don't get it.
Anyways, nice car OP, looks like it's in great shape!
Thanks for the support! I assume from your name that you are running a sweet 88 transam gta, no? If so, I'd love to see some pics of that bad boy. This car will get decent gas mileage, if I'm not romping on it, but man its hard not to.

No probI catch the same crap from friends / coworkers about my own cars.
And you guessed correctly - most think the username has something to do with Grand Theft Auto. The T/A is currently in a speedshop - getting a 383 stroker, fully built street / strip transmission, subframe connectors, and a Super Ram intake setup installed, along with other odds n ends. It should be good for @ 425-450 HP at the wheels when it comes out in the spring.

Yep, I've been registered there since July '02
Haven't posted much there lately...although I've been reading up on the prom tuning board a bit. I've got a laptop, cable, and the software to get datalog runs out of the car, and I get the basics - but I want to learn ALL of it, and how to tune it better. I'm also planning a speed density conversion once the car is out of the shop. It's hard though, there's a lot of crap to understand!

Don't like newer or old cars? What do you drive, a gyrocopter?
