1996 Ford Unmarked Police Interceptor. 210 HP and 275 torque from a 4.6 L V8... but I need more!

The thing will scoot up to 100 mph REAL quick! Very roomy too, grey leather interior, bucket seats, ice cold AC, gun rack... the usual options. Rear is a 9 inch posi with 3.27 gears.

Anyone know any mods for a 4.6? They have the same heads as the newer GTs so I guess the intake is whats holding it back?

I'll get some pics up tonight.

Update: Here are the pics! They were taken at night and are not very good, I'll get a full set of pics up tomorrow with all the details! These pics DO NOT do this car justice at all because of the darkness! Check back tomorrow for better pics!

Pretty much anything you can do to the Mustang, you can do to that engine. I'm pretty sure you can use the K&N air filter kit on that to boost performance a little bit. Does it have a dual exhaust? Either put in a performance exhaust, or go dual.

Doubt it if you want. My car has leather seats. The back seat had a platic prisoner transport seat which sat on top of the regular seat. Pulled it off and there is a MINT leather bench seat. The front seats are cracked a little from the sun, but not too bad.

Cool, I'm suprised. Sounds like a nice car.

Want it to go faster? Get the cylinder heads off a 99+ mustang, and one of these (migt need to be modified a little to fit a crown vic, but I'm sure you can get it on there).

A guy I know bought it from an auction for $1500 and put new tranny in it, new tires, reconnected the rear power windows/locks/door handels and painted it. He buys them every so often. He wanted 2900 but I got him to 2500 - hell the tranny he put in it was worth a grand by itself!

No Catalytic Converter?? Hope you don't have to pass emmisions

(Elwood & Jake in the old police car that Elwood uses to pick up Jake after getting out of prison)
ELWOOD: You don't like it?
JAKE: No I don't like it.
(Elwood floors it and jumps over an open drawbridge)
JAKE: Of course it's got a lot of pickup.
ELWOOD: It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Blues Mobile or what?
(Jake after lighting a cigarette)
JAKE: Fix the cigarette lighter.

I can't be sure, as I'm no police inteceptor expert, but I'm pretty sure they're different. The early 4.6 mustangs (96 and 97) were rated at 215 horsepower, which leads me to beleive that they had the same motor as your 210hp 4.6, with minor adjsutments. The number rose to 260 in '99, primarily because of the new heads. I don't even think they had designed the heads that are on the 99+ stangs in '96.

Hmmm you could be right, I'd have to research it. A mechanic at the Sheriff?s motor pool told me that the 1993-present PI (police interceptor) heads were the same ones on new stangs. If I am wrong then it will be a nice boost in HP!

Ahh you were right notfred, the 93-98 cars had the older PI heads (not 96-98 Mustang heads though). In 1998 the cop cars got the new PI heads and Stangs got them in 1999. Guess the Sheriff?s mechanic didn't know what he was blabbing about! :D
