You'd want the stiffer suspension, it's not THAT stiff. The M3 has stiffer suspension than the sports; sports package has good balance of firmness and performance. Not only that, you get better brakes upgrade and such, worth while if you ask me.

I am not ashamed to eat my words - that is an amazing swap and it sounds like they did it in a reasonable time frame, for reasonable money. It sounds like they have some pretty impressive engineering minds in the shop that did it, but, well, they did it . . . That's a stunning car.

That guy spent $10k on a wrecked M3 to pull that motor from, it's a huge investment to start out with ~420hp (can probably get to 450hp or so without any major work). For less $, you can do an LS swap, have a lighter motor, and start with ~500+hp, with 600, 700, or even 800+hp available without spending an insane amount of $$. Getting the //M motors to those power ranges costs a lot more. I'm a BMW fan, and I love their stuff (most of it), but if you're going to go through the trouble of a swap, why not go for some serious power?

Something like this looks like a total monster, and it doesn't even have a SC yet, 455rwhp on a blueprinted LS1, probably 500hp or so at the crank, and a good supercharger kit would take that into the 600+ range with ease.

Arkaign, in all honesty, if I had the cash to waste on a BMW engine swap, I would never put an LS engine in my car. The LS engines are cheap and powerful, but GOD do I hate the noise they make. The sound is so much thicker and lacking. Just the idle noise of an LS that "tada daddadadaadada tada daddadadaadada...." makes me feel like walking away from whatever car is making that noise.

People who like BMWs usually like that higher revving noise, sharper pitch not traditional American engine noise. TBH I would love nothing more than an E46 M3 I6 engine paired with a 6-speed manual box in a swap I make, perfect.

Now, if there is a way to make those LS engines sound like BMW engines, count me in.

Nice color choice!

I've concur!

I know it's too late but you really should have gotten the sports suspension. BMWs are known for their handling and the sports suspension would make a noticeable difference. I wish the M sport package was out when I got my car but it came out 2 months after I ordered mine. Those m sport rims are so much better than the standard sport rims.
