Man, this is better than the regular juvenile namecalling nef threads before the election. No wait... this is a juvenile namecalling nef thread. ;)

I am hoping that the final tally puts the votes within 100 of each other. It would be very amusing, assuming that everybody in the country doesn't phreak out and start pounding each other in the streets.

P.S. So, just what is a nef anyway?!?!? :p

The only name calling in this thread is coming from Bore's supporters. It is standard practice. When the facts are not on their side, they resort personal assaults.

I havent nor will I challenge that remark, but the fact remains that the election is not officially over and Gore is completly within his rights to try those avenues of discovery. You know that Bush or any canidate would do the same damn thing, why pretend they wouldn't. A concession at this point with no official close of the election is silly, think about it, on the 17th I expect to have a president elect,(I hope).

Shux,

That didn't happen with Nixon/Kennedy....or later on with Ford. Class act politics back then....but you're right: today our standards are much lower.

Gores on a slippery slope, any county that does not certify their recount by Tuesday 5pm, their votes will NOT be counted in the states election. Court order or not.

I don't think those races were even close to being like this one. There are less than 1000 votes seperating these two from a victory. I can't remember the closeness of the Nixon/Kennedy or the Ford election, but it certainly wasn't this close, nor as focused in one locale as this.
The official results for this will not be decided until Nov 17th. That has not changed.
We are just sitting around watching and participating in the wrangling about the trends and events that inspire us to respond. I wish they would announce the 4 precinct sampling results in Palm Beach County. Somethings up. They started to announce about an hour ago and then quickly cut it off the TV. Thats very curious.

Anyone care to speculate?

Nixon/Kennedy was CLOSER. Less than 120,000 votes seperated them nationwide, and Illinois, which Nixon lost, was rampant with electoral fraud. Had he contested it, he probably would have won.

Tripleshot,

You're asking that of this crowd? I'm sure we'll all agree to simply stick with the facts at hand. Shame on you.

Apparently from what I heard today there was some question as to whether or not he had done some fraudulent vote bending himself and decided to "let it go" rather than open up that can of worms.

3shot,
I have no idea. all I know is the canvassing board is looking tired. :)

Shux,

That's liberal speculation. It is also not what he wrote in his personal journals, at the time, that he never thought would be publicly revealed.

Bottom line is that this is NOT the closest we have seen and, the last time it happened the Republican was on the short end of the stick, and took it like a man. Bore should do the same.

I don't even know why I'm writing this, for it will most likely be ignored (what a surprise, I'm 19 year old, no political party cares about me anyway), but people...

This is the exact type of garbage that turns off people my age.

I'm talking about both sides here. I find it so disgusting to see all you people argue like 3rd graders fighting over their Nintendo 64's and Playstation's. What hurts me more is that most of you are adults twice my age.....this worries me.

Let me tell you about my mother and father, both whom voted...

My father voted for George W. Bush. When I asked him why, he simply stated that it would offer my family better tax breaks. In the last six months of following the capaign in order to make his decision, he never once made a deragatory remark about Al Gore. He never once called him "BORE", never once ridiculed the people who supported Gore and voted for him, and as a man of middle age, I would be shocked to see my father talk like someone younger than even I.

My mother voted for Albert Gore. When I asked her why, she told me because she felt he was a better choice for president, and she felt he would carry on Clinton's "regime" (so to speak), which she liked. In the past six months of her decision making, I never heard my mother say anything like "George W. is an idiot" or anything even close to that degree. She never once felt the need to insult GW, never once said that the people who follow him are selfish and rich, and as a woman of middle age, I would be dissapointed in my mother if she did so.

My mother and father have been married for 20 years. They voted for two different people to run our country. Neither ever ridiculed another by telling to other to "suck it up", "eat it", or any of the plethora of verbal attacks I've seen from countless members on this board.

You know what my mother and father did in the end?

They voted for who they thought was the best person for the job, and left it at that.

I'm sorry if I lost you in my writing. The point is to just think about all the arguing, and what it really accomplishes. If your goal is to absolutely turn off the young people of this country, the one's who will be running it in the future, the ones who will be paying your social security, and the ones who are turing out, less and less, each and every election.....

....then job well done. :(

Thank you for your time,

pg19, just an un-important 19 year old.

Hahaha! that was a good laugh. i really needed that. oh yeah, what about constantly calling someone "Bore." That's pretty damn childish in my opinion.

You know, no one except for Bush-fanatics has announced who the next Pres. is (unless they did on the news...i'm not up to date yet). It's not official yet. Sure Bush may very well win it, but there's no way in hell you can say he won when he officially hasn't. When they officially anounce it, i'll acknowledge "president bush." but until, it's pres. clinton. talk about being stubborn. even the bitchiest of mules/asses should feel outdone.

Besides...making someone as filthy as either of those two men look so great, like you bush supporters are doing, is just pitiful. i don't understand how normal people could look up to him and try spread his "glory" to everyone can not feel ashamed. mind boggling i tell ya!

EDIT: well said pg19! that's the kind of people we need. not retards who try to make everyone look stupid. everyone should vote for whom HE (or she) wants. period.

Russ, for a minute I thought you were right...I looked through the whole thread....then I looked at a post from a wise 19-year old, and realized how you refer to one of the candidates. Look at your sig....and your posts....

PG19, Wait you mean that people in real life don't act like they do here on the BBS? No it can't be true. :) The internet is rife with behavior you would not see in real life and you should not draw any sort of conclusion from the debate normally found here. Seriously think about this. If you brought someone like Russ (no offense :)) and and a democrat supporter in the same room together you think there would be a yelling match with childish antics? No probably not. I personally think this generation is apathetic because it's been relatively good since we've been alive. We saw the Berlin Wall fall and the USSR Breakup followed by a great time of economic success. All of this before we could even vote, if we didn't have much input in the way things were run this whole time and things have worked out pretty well why change? Just my personal ramblings late at night.

Couldn't have said it better myself, PG:) All you need is one look at how both the Gore and Bush supporters were screaming back and forth at each other during the demonstrations in Florida to see the type of furvor some people get in. Being passionate about your country's political system is a great thing, but resorting to personal insults and childish bickering is just counter-productive. Seeing those demonstrators in Florida reminded me quite a bit of watching home videos in which little-league athletes' parents proceeded to quite often beat the snot out of one another because an umpire made a call someone didn't agree with. Hopefully this next generation will learn from the violent ways of its predecessors.

And yes, I realize that those acting out seem to be a minority of all parents and political party supporters...and for this I'm glad. However, too many times people nowadays simply don't even bother trying to accept another person's differences. If the views differ from their own then that person is inferior and doesn't even deserve the chance to speak. Again I say...hopefully things will change...and soon.

Here's an idea.

Sue GORDIE for this entire expense. Including the lost revenues in all those ol folks retirement funds getting hit in the market.

That would be a fair blow to him after he realizes he has lost. Put him on the bench for good.

I got his message load and clear. He's a bright fellow.(Pg19)I have fought the atagonists on this board so long,I have become one. My bad (or my good, depending on what flavor of sarcasm you subscribe to).

Soon it will be all over. Then we can rant about who makes the best video card or modem. Those rifts are fun and not often personal.

Some one said this bantering would not go on if Russ was in a room with a Democrat.Hint; He probably would not be in a room with a democrat if he had his choice.;)
