Static guns are overrated for guardians if you have a fast firing SMG like my quad-shots. Heck... I even preferred my explosive gun with a huge zoom to my static SMG for the Sera guardians.
Agreed, a fast firing, high damage SMG is fine for guardians.
do weapon mods drop in later playthroughs and DLC--is there a mod function in teh game that I haven't seen?
..or are you talking about guns dropping with these mods.
K, new question. I'm back to the main storyline, but I just realized that my weapons kinda suck now; I just started old haven, and its taking me 3 to 4 magazines worth of ammo to kill 1 guy there.
So, is there a good place to farm up some new weapons? Everywhere I look keeps telling me to farm new haven, from what I can tell that info is a bit outdated, as a patch took out some of the chests there.

Sorry to be dense, but, as I am thinking about starting a new playthrough -- after I lost about 110 hours of playtime due to HDD failure -- and wanted to make sure I get the playthrough order correct:
Main Game
Main Game (Play-through 2)
Then Move to the DLC (in this order):
Underdome
Zombie Island
Secret Armory
Claptrap Revolution
Is this right?
Thanks, in advance, for the clarification.
Regards,
Nope, every quest has a recommended level. If you're above that level, it will be VERY easy. And if you try to do every quest, you will pretty much be permanently overleveled.
It really pissed me off the way Borderlands handles leveling. All weapon damage scales based on level. In a game so focused on guns, why should your level matter more than anything else?
It makes it hard to find the sweet spot. Either your guns are doing pathetic single-digit damage, or else you're mowing down everything with ease.
I've been making purchases fairly regularly form the vending machines, and was wondering if it's worthwhile to do so, or I should always wait for something better to drop. I haven't always seen great things dropping, only a few decent weapons from the bosses--Sledge's shotgun and that mele flame repeater pistol from one of the first bosses (eh, already sold that one back).
I suppose that for first play through, drops aren't going to be that great, so vending machine purchases are expected? My unholy amount of deaths is costing me money, lol.
fricking 8 scouts running around in buggies. how the hell am I supposed to take those guys out?![]()

I generally use the vehicle to run after them & kill them with the rocket turret.
Auto-aim lock-on (for the vehicle turret) is actually rather inaccurate against them when they are moving; i find it's better to not use it.
A good ranged revolver/sniper will make short work of them as well.
As for buying stuff from vendors, you'll definitely need to for some things like good shields/COMs, & some of the Item of the Day weapons, etc. can be good.
If you are really having trouble with all enemies with your current weapons, you can generally approach it two ways...
Either farm from better weapons, or accept a few more of the side quests to gain additional XP.

Once you know where to find the chests, you're bound to find something decent at some point, or you can always run thru, check the chests you want to, & then reload the game & repeat until you find something good.
I don't usually do sidequests unless they give elemental artifacts or backpack SDUs or specific items i want, as they are not necessary, & doing too many means becoming overleveled.
However, if you are finding enemies too rough, being overleveled a little bit isn't so bad if it means you aren't constantly dying![]()
OH--I guess what your'e saying is I can close in, hit c to transfer to the turret, then blast them.
I guess this works well if you flip over their vehicle. that was the only way I could kill one of them on thsi mission.
I had success with lesser buggies just using an assault rifle.
uhh unless you changed your keybindings, rightclick will fire the turret
I just started playing this game at the weekend actually. I bought it in a steam sale months ago but only played the intro and wasn't very impressed, I gave it another go and now I'm quite addicted.
I'm up to level 20 now and is there any way to respec my talent points? I found a purple class mod that gives +2 to a few skills I didn't take so I want to respec to take advantage of it.
the teleport junction points allow you to respec and change character name/color etc. click on the 2nd icon in the top right corner of the window that opens on the teleporter. I forget the icon, but you can do it there for a price.
others will know, but I imagine the cost raises each subsequent time you respec. I haven't done it yet, and I'm not sure if every teleporter gives you this option, though I assume they do.
weird. I didn't change anything for vehicle settings, and rightclick was firing the mahcine gun for me the other day.
