just purchased the underdome add on.

only played one arena so far.. with 2 people it was hard. wow. i cant imagine the later ones.
 
Yeah from what I've heard of it, that one is more for a full group team.

Also I heard / read somewhere to do a respec (if needed) and get all the healing skills you can have for your class is suppose to help.

I just started this game last night...I picked soldier and my buddy is hunter.

This is one SWEET game! Different than a lot of stuff I've played before. But there are almost so many guns you spend 1/2 your time comparing guns trying to decide which is the best one to use.

So is there a consensus on the best class to use? I'll either be playing single or with 1 friend. I do not have XBL.

I haven't really played that much of all of them. I started with soldier and got him to lvl 50, really like him. Have siren & brick just high enough to get thier achievements. Lately I've been using the hunter, currently low 30's, and had to change up a few things as to how I was playing but having fun with him also.

A bit of a heads up, guns that do elemental dmg will show a lower dmg stat but might actually be better (kill faster) than one with a higher dmg stat but without elemental dmg.
 
I had been playing Borderlands daily for the last couple of weeks, until that patch came out today for the 360. 🙁 they took away modded weapons and shields. I know, I know,.. some people consider that cheating, but I found it very fun using them when I needed them. Now, the game is unplayable, and now my copy is back on Goozex to get traded off. I say thumbs down to the patch. I played with 3 other people today for a bit, that felt the same way and said they were moving onto other games as well.

So for you PC and PS3 guys, if you have modded weapons, better do your leveling up today and tomorrow, because I read your patch is coming on Thursday.
 
HMM.. i will have to see if i lost any weapons now. i was never sure if i have hacked items. but if you are telling me the a new patched fixed modded weapons ill be happy....

So I bought Borderlands today.... And I know there are 3 DLC packs for it. Should I get them now? Is there any content from them (items etc) that will also show up at the beginning? Or should I only buy them when I'm done with the game at least once? Thanks 🙂
 
the third dlc is a continuation of main story. so you would want to play that after u beat the game.

the underdome is stupid hard and u dont gain anything from it.

the zombie is a nice addon... just play the main story and beat and get the dlc. all of it is better in the second playthrough. dont waste it on the first.

I've only got the last one so far.

I'm not sure about the 1st (Zombie).

The 2nd (Underdome) sounds like it is very challenging. From what I've read it's best with a team. I've got pts in my acct & will be getting it as Joph has it along with a friend of his so we can team up. That is if our gaming time can sync up. One nice thing about this one is it has a storage locker that you can use to store extra gear in.

The 3rd (Secret armory) I just d/l last night. I haven't actually went to the new area yet. The main game has a level cap of 50 and this one raises it to level 61. I hit level 50 with my solider during playthrough 2 without doing all the side missions. I've been going back to complete the side missions that I skipped before going to the new area.
 
Playing the soldier dude, Roland? Got combat rifles and shotguns and the turret. At first I was lost with the weapons. I though the scoped ones are fun... Found a blue shotgun and PEW PEW 😀 Also someone dropped a combat rifle that tears stuff to pieces 🙂 Game's a lot of fun so far !

Now the colors, is it white -> green -> blue -> ?? for rarity? The blue weapons sure have a punch, so I guess that's how it works. Any advice for a beginner? 🙂

As for teaming up, sure, as long as it's possible. I'm lvl7 though. No idea if that matters?

And thanks for the small reviews 🙂 I'll probably get the Zombie one for now and the other two once I finish the game at least once.

EDIT: Also a shield that regens HP slowly. Awesome! 🙂

As of lvl 50 I had:

Joph - You still using a double anarchy smg? After reading here about them I've tried to keep my eyes open for one & have had no luck getting one.
 
Finally bought this on Sunday and started playing as Mordecai with a couple of friends. Good stuff so far.

i think i have one still. i have upgradted to a badass combat rifle now though
 
So I jumped ship to a Siren and OMG does she own or what! And I use her skill a lot - unlike the PoS turret 😛

Got a SMG for incendiary, shock and explosive - the 4th one will be with corosive and a Mercenary mod with ammo regen. She's so much fun to play it's incredible! And the elemental weapons are deadly 🙂 And the blast when she's coming into or out of Phasewalk is amazing 🙂 This game is so much fun btw! I took 2 DLCs, the first and third one. I heard the second one is co-op mostly and I don't really have anyone to play with...

Anyway, don't know why people are complaining, the game's a lot of fun. Graphics are kinda weak (but what would you expect, it's an Xbox...) but it's OK, I can look past for the most part.

What are the stats of it?

I finally got a some what decent combat rifle so I switched back over to them as I wasn't haven't any luck finding a DA. It's a blue or purple with 198 dmg, 90s acc, 11 refire and a scope. Going through the armory dlc has been a bit tough so far.

Roland took me a few respecs as I went along, but was still pretty fun going. I really like the support gunner mod for the ammo regen.

I've got a hunter in the 40's on playthrough 2 that I'm having a lot of fun with. I was using survivor class mod for HP regen but switched over to gunslinger with ammo regen as I mainly use revolvers with him. Can't wait to get him to lvl 48 to try one I had some help transferring from my soldier to him.

I've got Brick & Siren both at less than lvl 10 as I only ran them to get thier achievements for now.
