I'm working on an HP Pavillion a420n desktop that won't boot. Error message: BIOS ROM Checksum error - Detecting floppy drive A: media - Insert system disk. After that it stops; can't get into setup (yes the floppy drive is empty). I can boot to a WinXP floppy, but it won't recognize any other drives. The power supply tested bad and was replaced, but same error returns. I fear the MB is damaged, but hoped someone else has some insight. Any ideas? Thanks.
