Boot help

I'm working on an HP Pavillion a420n desktop that won't boot. Error message: BIOS ROM Checksum error - Detecting floppy drive A: media - Insert system disk. After that it stops; can't get into setup (yes the floppy drive is empty). I can boot to a WinXP floppy, but it won't recognize any other drives. The power supply tested bad and was replaced, but same error returns. I fear the MB is damaged, but hoped someone else has some insight. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you tried going in to bios to redect all the drives? Perhaps the hard drive got damaged by the bad PSU?

Can't get to the bios. Get the error message and lock up before I can do anything.

Sounds like your BIOS is hosed.
