Just finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Now I need another book. I'll read the first book mentioned.

Have enjoyed works by Peter Watts, Harry Harrison, Stephen King among others.

Anything delving deep into human nature, 'realistic/detailed' scifi or zombies is fine.

Thinkig about reading the Stainless Steel Rat series. :hmm:

Tom Clancy - Without Remorse

Edit: You promise to read the first book mentioned? CRAP. I should have said Everybody Poops 😛

Twilight2(5).jpg

The entire Dune series. It is not only sci-fi, but entirely about human nature. Should be enough books to keep you busy for a while.

The Windup Bird Chronicle by Murakami

Amazing, amazing book! It's double amazing! :awe:

I'm about to finish Zeitoun by Dave Eggers; pretty good little book, but one I would recommend to people here.

I enjoyed his Deathworld trilogy more, but both were entertaining.

You might also like L. E. Modesitt Jr.'s Adiamante for serious SF. For lighter space opera, David Drake's Lt. Leary series is good and the first 3 are free legal eBooks at baen.com (#1 is With the Lightnings).

Done! Never actually read a Tom Clancy novel before. I've seen some movies and played many games of course. This should be interesting.

I read one of those Stainless Steel Rat books...in 4th grade. lol.
Wait, wut? Are they young adult/children's books? 🙁

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress
Seen some buzz about this one. Put on mental list.

Printer Bandit almost got me there with Twilight D😀😀😀😀:

edit:

Loved the Deathworld series.

The Windup Bird Chronicle by Murakami, put on actual list, because I won't remember it. Also this: You might also like L. E. Modesitt Jr.'s Adiamante for serious SF. Don't think I could read Dune. I'd probably picture every character as John Travolta. (Never seen the film((s)?) though, just the poster and some pics.)

I always suggest this to people who haven't read it. Love the series.

Starting to rethink this:

I was thinking of Battlefield Earth :whiste:

Alright, thanks for the input everyone! Downloading book and heading to bed.

I can beat that, I just started the ninth book of the series Malazan Book of the Fallen. I'm addicted. I understand there is a tenth one in the works too.

Einstein's Bridge by John Cramer. A little outdated, but it still works, if you've been paying attention to politics since about 1990.

no idea. I picked it up to do a book report. maybe read half of it, had to wing about 90% of the oral presentation. some whore in the 5th grade class (We were combined that year) who read the book started grilling me during the presentation, lol.

anyway, I was not into it. probably meant for older readers, but whatever.
