In the U.S. healthcare for the impoverished and illegals is free. You just have to be patient enough while waiting in the emergency room.

No it isn't. Everyone who pays for insurance and the leftover hospital bills picks up the tab (not to mention Medicaid - i.e. taxes).

There is absolutely nothing in the healthcare bill that will make it more affordable to hard working Americans. Those who choose not to pay can get second class service. I have no problem with this.

So you have no problem providing free second class medical service to Americans who "choose" not to pay?

"Overall, which party, the Democrats or the Republicans, do you trust to do a better job handling health care reform going forward?" Options rotated

Democrats Republicans Both (vol.) Neither (vol.) Unsure
% % % % %

10/5-10/10

46 31 2 13 8

And look where it got them. Booted out of office.

sup pup!

And hell yes. I work very hard to provide my son with the health care he needs. I work with at least 10 different people who keep their job just for the insurance benefits. What is so wrong about people earning their keep?

If people are poor or elderly or...whatever, there are state and federal programs to help them get insurance. If they opted for a job that doesn't provide insurance, the hospitals will work with them. Why screw up healthcare for the 240 million of us that do have insurance? Who says all 52 million of those people want insurance? There are plenty of people out there who would rather earn a few more dollars a week than have insurance.

The system isn't broke. Don't FUBAR it.

Ah, OK, so the system isn't broke. Costing 2x as much as our economic competitors while leaving 20% without coverage isn't broke. I'd be interested to know what would be considered "broke?"

wait, so there were 45m that were uninsured, and our healthcare bill only covered 30m of them, so how is the lying left getting the number 52m?

Who's health is in jeopardy?

Or did I stumble into a fear mongering thread? Wouldn't want to ruin your fun.

Better get rid of car insurance and life insurance too while your at it. You know its not called insurance for a reason or anything.

LOL, I have no doubt the first piece of shit bill this house produces will be

H.R. 6969 Repeal Obamacare

followed closely by

H.R. 6669 Impeach Obummer

I fully expect them to completely make a mockery of the legislative process, probably even worse than their constant preoccupation with Clintons penis in the 90's.

The point is that is what happens but it doesnt save you any money. Come on man. Who's gonna eat that bill? You think a crutch is really $250?
Do you truly believe that Obama care saves money?
If you actually believe so, then I have an ocean front property to sell you in Arizona.

How is that different than a single payer system? Those who earn more pay, those who earn less and pay not taxes (or worse, get free gov cash in the form of credits) pay nothing. Either way those who actually pay will pay for those who don't.

And yet it still doesn't address the problem of cost. No politician has a clue why health care costs so much. It's not because of insurance. Insurance is a middle man, and yes they take their cut, but it does not double the cost of health care. Government is a middle man and would take their cut from a single payer system also, and we know how inefficient the federal government is, so there's likely very little savings there.

If you believe that everyone paying for treating the uninsured at the ER is cheaper than having them go to a doctor and paying as much as they can afford for their insurance, you probably bought some AZ ocean front property already.

Single payer pays for poor people to see primary care doctor, our system pays for them to go to the ER. If you don't think this addresses the problem of cost, why don't you go to ER next time you get a cold and find out what the cost is.

Chance of repeal happening before January 20th, 2013...zero. Repeal will pass the House to appease Spidey (along with the rest of the base) and then never come up for a vote in the Senate.

I hope they are beefing up those recycle bins in the Senate for all the House bill spam.

There is the slight problem of the Dems controlling the senate, so the chances of this going through are next to nil. It isn't going to happen. And if it does, it'll never get past a veto.

Have you guys forgotten the 85 cents rule that kicks in in 2013?

No matter what they charge you you get 85 cents back from every dollar not spent on your health care. The company keeps 15 percent profit and get 13 cents more than what it takes to administer social security....

How is that not saving me money?

Want health insurance? Then pay for it. The people have spoken, shut the fuck up communists, we don't want what you're selling. This. Is. America!!!!

/thread

I fucking told you we were coming after people that don't work or pay taxes. We're here. We are taking the country back. Fuck Obama and anybody that believes his agenda.

How ya gonna do that, troll? Think the Repubs have a veto-proof majority in both houses? Think they can get ANY bill past the Dems in the Senate? Think again, moron.

Obamacare is here to stay.

Feeling kind of sad? Let me tell you what you can do about it: Take a Democrat filibuster and stick it up your ass daily. Then get back to me in about 10 years and tell me how that "taking back the country" is doing.

They are abusing the ER. The ER is for Emergencies not a cold or the flu. That is one thing that drives up the cost. Another big issue is frivolous law suits that drive up the cost of malpractice ins for the Dr.s and the Hospitals.

If you have no Insurance and you go to the ER for service and it is not an emergency either you pay in cash or go home with no service. If it a life threatening emergency they should treat you regardless. Then create a system or panel to screen out frivolous law suits. These would bring down the cost of health care considerably in my opinion.

Actually lawsuits and malpractice insurance are a tiny percentage of health care costs.

How do you know if it's flu or flu like symptoms that are sign of a more serious condition?
