I don't understand why they even posted an article about this. It happens at pretty much every bodybuilding competition. It's not exactly newsworthy.

No, not mad. Just tired after a long day...

They make themselves that dark because under the bright lights on stage they tend to wash out and won't have that cut look. They don't do their face because the oils on our faces are different from our body and they would just look like a blotchy mess. The prep is for the stage and in close up photos, the look is not flattering.

While I respect the amount of work that goes into the whole process of getting to the point of competing at this level, I feel it's a form of OCD that is not necessarily healthy on various levels. These guys actually have trouble walking. The prep in the last week or two leading up to taking the stage messes with their psyches pretty badly. It's not fun to be around them.

Not good, but that is just my opinion.
