I don't know much about it, but after a quick google search and seeing the exercise routine outlined, I can say it looks solid. I don't know about the nutrition aspect, however. From what I read the idea is to eat every 2-3 hours and decrease carbohydrates. Following those rules can make it harder to overeat, but you have to realize it's all about calories when it comes to weight loss.

Kooldrew is right, it is solid. I know several people who've tried it. It is nothing miraculous in what it tries to do. It simply recommends a decent weight and nutrition program. It even allows a cheap day or meal each week (as long as you don't go completely gangbusters on that day, this is a really effective way to keep you sane each week).

I've never done it, and people can nitpick its shortcomings all day, but for most people, even some who're fairly fit as it is, if they follow its teachings with a solid effort, they'll do well. That last part is applicable to most such programs. P90X on infomercials right now I can recommend highly based on the informercials and some I know who've done it. They didnt' get much gain out of it because they slacked off shortly after starting it, but you go on lower calories with an hour of exercise/day and you're going to look better with your shirt off, period.

It really is trying to make a conscious decision to change your health and your eating habits, ie, a lifestyle change. It's really no different than doing that yourself. The thing is, either you stick with it, or you fail like every other fat ass that doesn't have the motivation to stick with it. (Not calling you a fatass, just really hate those people that complain about diets that don't work for them) It's all about changing your lifestyle.

I used to have the book. It was a solid eating/workout plan. I think there was 3 workout days split into upper body/lower body. Interval training for cardio was a big thing.
